You ain't getting more than Cags, get over it.

Or he dont want to stay in Italy and hes priced himself out of that move.

If he's Cags mate he will have an idea what we pay.

Is this guy surplus to requirements at Roma? or do they need money?

Bit of both, he has been poor for Roma for a while and think it suits both parties he moves on.

He wants £60k a week after tax

On 48k a week currently - according to reports.

As Italian website Calcio Mercato writes about the future of Cengiz Under, Premier League sides Leicester City and Newcastle United are pointed out as potential destinations.

The report starts by saying that even though the winger was expected to leave Roma this summer, he’s now seen as nearly non-transferable.

Under came close to moving to Napoli, but the deal collapsed partly of because his many demands, and then due to injury issues which led Roma to freeze the operation. He ended up doing pretty well at the start of the Serie A season, and convincing the Giallorossi he deserves to stay.

Calcio Mercato points out that the club must be careful with the ‘English sirens’ which may return for him.

It’s said an approach from Leicester City ‘is expected’, even though the Foxes are ‘reluctant’ to pay over €23m for the player. Meanwhile Newcastle would be more interested in a loan deal.

Neither of these offers would be enough to take Under from Roma, especially because the club would only let him go for more than the €25m which Napoli wanted to pay for him. So Leicester and Newcastle would have to present something more attractive.

They’ll pay a proportion to an image rights company or similar so that he pays corporation tax rather than PAYE on it. Saves him Huge amounts of tax and saves us national insurance.

Is that true for all players? I remember when I've seen leaked pay slips before it's been PAYE...unless they're fake lol

I hope we stay away from paying these 20/30 million fees for some of these bang average players given that the market is all over the place at the moment

Rather buy three £20m players than one £60m player

It wouldn’t be on the pay slip... so he probably earned more than that. Ha.

It was rife if they had an agent who knew what they were doing it. HMRC clamped down on it though so it is capped now I think.

I know as I designed a load of letterheads for sports stars dodgy companies.

There was a big thing in the papers about it a few years back. Not my letterheads, the company tax thing!

When a player openly puts his wage demands out there then my respect for him has gone.

You mean in public? Why? I’m fairly open with what wages I’ll work for. If I said it in public, it’d be okay? (With the exception of people on the internet talking about it, which is okay if you strangely want to suffer that)?

Sounds stupid. Was he making a demand or was it misguided post? Dunno if I’d lose respect for a player doing something stupid (else I’d only respect players I know nothing about!)

Seems like he’ll have to accept an under payment if he wants to join us. Still be more than he’s on in italy, so I don’t think it’s really under playing it.

Sorry, have I missed something? Has he posted his wage demands on Facebook or something? I'm lost now.
