Maddison is an excellent player. He hasn't recovered from his injury and is clearly unfit. Playing him and Perez last night is on the manager.  Most of the season he's an asset he's just had a loss of form/fitness issues at crucial times the last two seasons .

2 seasons in a row he's lost his form when it's counted and the team dropped out of the top 4.  He needs to be upgraded.

I agree that stuff like this never looks great after a defeat, especially at a crucial time in the season, but no-one gives a damn when he's messing about on FIFA, so why the big deal that he's getting involved in fashion in his spare time? Pretty sure he's allowed to have outside interests.

It's so poor. You'd think he'd have some sort of media team but if he does they're bloody awful! He's let himself down so badly over the last couple of months.

Talks the talk. But when it gets tough he can't hack it. Weak physically and mentally. Never be a success at a side that are better than us. He needs to get his head down and perform for a whole season instead of the odd game here and there.

He is a good player but comes across as someone who doesn't focus enough on his game. Given that he was coming back from an injury, he should have been focusing on improving his fitness and his game. Those distractions slow his progress I feel.

I thought he was very good at Man City away. 
What a victory.  I doubt we’ll get that score line up there again.

Wtf are you lot on? Why are you so precious about what he does? He's not doing it during a match ffs. Or would you rather he just sit there miserably at home and wallow in self pity because all of you want people to suffer the same as you so you don't feel alone in your misery?

The fact people are so obsessed at what he does in his life outside of football is weird in itself. And look how worked up they get about it judging by the comments in this thread :dunno:

It will be his social media team posting it ffs, really think Madders sits at home typing up these kind of tweets when all top level footballers have someone who does it for them?

 

Doubt Madders even knows it has been posted!

 

Also they wont likely have a choice as to when to post this kind of thing, very likely written into whatever deal he has with the company as to when and what he needs to post

Maddison, like a lot of our players, just needs to rest to heal properly and have a proper pre season again. The fact he’s unlikely to be picked for the euros could be a blessing. If we make suitable additions and he comes back well rested, there’s no reason why we can’t hit the ground running again. 
 

Im not too bothered with the “antics” as they’re hardly earth shattering in terms of controversy. Up until his hip injury he was having a great run of form. I have faith he’ll come round again.

Yeah but footballers don’t always sit on their Twitter and post things up. This could quite easily be his PR team/agent posting this up and people have just gone for him.

It's the trouble with social media. People have far too much of an insight in to lives outside of football that now they must know everything. But in doing so, it's a bigger stick to use to beat them with despite having wanted to know more in the first place. 

 

This ad stuff probably has little to no bearing on his football, anyway. There's never any in between with some fans. Always has to be great or terrible, good or bad, love or hate...
