Yep. Same for Morris too, there was one point where the camera just panned to him slumped in his seat doing nothing.

 

If you're going to promote someone like Lampard early... you at least get experience in beside him!

We made them look dire. Pressed them and stopped them getting anything going, resulting in them just crossing it aimlessly over and over. We aren't the only team that has done this against them, but the difference is we were front foot instead of standing off them.

 

Honestly 2-0 is a flattering scoreline for them.

That was one of the most comfortable wins of the season so far.  Totally out played Chelsea in every department.

Fofana was immense and Jamie Redknapp said he will be top centre half in Europe one day. High praise.

Maddison, Ndidi, Albrighton and Tielemans were all superb, it was a joy to watch. 
 

Before season started I would of been happy with top 6, minimum I want now is top 4, Dare we start to dream again???

Agree. They didn't get near us at any point from start to finish. Was it one shot on goal ? Maybe two? and it should have been at least 3-0

If only we could get a quality striker in during this window, then I'd be much more confident that we could go all the way again and win the title!

Really unusual for me to speak up for Perez, but I thought he did superbly this evening in his short role.

That was brilliant, other than set pieces I never really thought they presented us with any danger.

 

Few differences to last season which I've probably mentioned previously at some point. Firstly the squad and our bench options. Last season we had bench options of Bennett, Gray, Choudhury and Iheanacho, now we have Cags, Ricardo, Under, Perez and Iheanacho, the difference in quality is unbelievable. We seem to be able to retain and pass the ball much better too, the pass and move game we play has improved.

 

This goes hand in hand with another difference, a bit of luck. We had numerous injuries last season and that pretty much ****ed up any chance we had of putting together a couple of wins which would have saw us into 4th, we were having to use poor squad players for the last quarter of the season, whereas this season we wouldn't notice a huge reduction in quality.

 

I think Rodgers tactically has learnt a bit too, not massive amounts but slight tweaks that allow us to change shape within the game, allowing us to retain the ball better and giving us better defensive positions. Maddison referred to it in his interview earlier where they slightly changed shape in the second half. We're not just playing the same way against everyone like we seemed to last year, against Arsenal for example we sat back for ages and hit them on the counter, against WBA we just played our normal way, whereas tonight in the second half we were happy to let Chelsea enjoy all the possession, as we knew we had a lead and could still generate chances whilst they were up the pitch.

 

Next, we have another year experience for a young team. Players like Barnes and Maddison look so much better this year, as does Justin (our most improved player).

 

Finally our mentality, think missing out on the CL really hurt us and the players have gotten stronger as a result, again this goes hand in hand with the addtional experience we've gotten as a team.
