Ayoze is too deep to be no 9

Him playing up front is basically the equivalent of Okazaki up front.

He is a very similar player to what Shinji was, likes to play deep, recieve the ball and link play with players around him.

Perez has some excellent qualities, but he’ll never be a proper number 9, that just isn’t his game.

Job done. We weren't as bad as half time reactions suggested in the first half but played with much better urgency and pressed much better. Maddison and Tielemans controlled the second half and we were never in danger. Defence grew into the game and were only troubled by set pieces really. Under has a goal in him but it's hard to drop Albrighton for him at the minute. Barnes made things happen but tried to take on players sometimes when it's just not on.

Overall we go on, confidence in squad at the minute.

There should be some kind of FT panel / tribunal where posters can be given 3-7 day bans for being embarrassing in match threads.

Good to see Amartey finish out the game comfortably - you'd have thought the first half was his first action in weeks or something

What a difference a half makes.

First half was like watching the 2007/2008 version of Leicester City.

Second half was the 2020/2021 version of Leicester City.

Under was MOTM for me, didn’t really do much in the first half, but he changed the game in the second, nice finish for his goal, terrific pass to Barnes that lead to our third.

Roll on Brighton in the next round

Your mate Big Dan had a storming first half!

👍

Think some of on here need to remember the game is over 90 mins not 45 mins as some really sad comments on the match thread. Some players need game time some needed a rest think we ticked all boxes today and onto the next round we go with a winnable tie in the next round

You know none of us are allowed to go to football at the minute so are doing our usual cheering/jibing when appropriate on here, right?

Great to make so many changes and still put out a side that very much feels "involved," if that makes sense. Every member of the squad offers *something* at the very least - changes today didn't just mean a load of ressies that aren't good enough getting a kick. We've got the best part of 20 very good players all capable of stepping in and doing a job.

Need to sort those corners, mind.

I think our 2nd string would be a mid table prem side.
