More injuries + fatigue setting in to players like Barnes ahead of a congested fixture list in February. We rotated 7 or 8 players against Brentford, so could see more of the same against Brighton, even if it is more of a risk result wise.

A modern day full back who cannot attack, not a single goal or assist since he arrived here over 18 months ago. I honestly am shocked he's involved. God to hear a few might get a chance though. Ben Nelson getting injured just at the wrong time, would likely be our youngest player for many many years. I must say I was surprised that D-C is suddenly appearing in match day squads . What little I’ve seen of him in the U23s didn’t persuade me that Arsenal had dropped one in letting him leave 2

Heymister2015 Posted 8 February 2021 Posted 8 February 2021 Tavares will definitely be in the squad! Never see him in squad training sessions until the other day

It wouldn't surprise me to see us relegated in the next 10 years, that's been the history of our club. How long are we going to be competitive enough to win things? We should grab what we can, while we can. But the future of the club isn’t set by its history. It will be determined by how well it’s run. LCFC always having been a yo-yo club doesn’t mean it must always remain one. True, for us it’s a long climb up a knife’s edge. We don’t now have the resources to fully compete on all fronts. We need a “resource multiplier” to keep climbing. The one great resource multiplier is a Champions League place. It’s worth tens of millions, and it attracts and keeps top players. The FA Cup is a major honor (and a huge “hole” for us). I can’t argue with anyone who personally values it more than an EL final or CL place. But what I don’t get is the preference for “bragging rights” or telling grandkids about something in decades past, over the strongest possible position to win in the future, that soon becomes the here-and-now. Isn't it more enjoyable to always be able to watch quality players, to always go into matches feeling able to win … than to always be able to relive a triumph in the receding past? Wouldn’t most Forest fans swap their grandads' trophies to be where we are going forward? The squad has been thinned out by injury, and it's crunch time for three competitions. If it comes down to the best chance to write one brilliant entry in the register, or the best chance to become a better club (and possibly write many entries), I choose the latter. There's no guarantees either way. 5 3

There's no guarantees either way. Leeds made the Champs League semi final in 2001, they were relegated in 2004, down to league 1 in 2007. They only got back to the prem this season. Being in the champions league doesn't guarantee future success. 1

Mike F***ing Dean Edit: referred to in an earlier post Dean's been getting death threats after giving out red cards in his past two matches. OK, so I don't think his decisions were correct, and they have been overturned, but death threats FFS?? I'm all in favour of free speech, but I also think that some people should have their mouths fitted with a fvckin lock and their social media accounts shoved up their ar$es. 4

A matter of how you would prioritize the miles in our players' legs (or should I say, hamstrings and groins). FWIW, fivethirtyeight have us with a 40% chance of making CL, and a 7% chance of winning the EL. Appears the bookies have us about 12-1 for the FA Cup (8%). So we're not odds-on for any of them. 2

RowlattsFox Posted 8 February 2021 Posted 8 February 2021 I really hope we can go further, once you get to this stage you never know. But understand the need to rest a couple. Hopefully have a strong core and then maybe utilise young players to get through the game. There is a decent chance we draw Man City, Chelsea or Man Utd in the quarters and we could do without a big game like that amongst other big games. They'd be no point getting through the rounds to then rest players at the crucial stage. I do think it's important to win to maintain confidence levels.
Father Ted Posted 8 February 2021 Posted 8 February 2021 Tough one this - great chance for progression but games are coming thick and fast and I'm beginning to worry about injuries and fatigue. Would like to see something like: Ward Justin Soyuncu Amartey Thomas Mendy Tielemans Under Maddison Albrighton Iheanacho

I think you're absolutely right, although I would say that Man Utd do not have a gimme tie - WHU are perfectly capable of doing a number on them.

Stadt Posted 8 February 2021 Posted 8 February 2021 If one of Tielemans or Maddison gets injured we’re so shagged. Youri has played so much football this season too. Ward Pereira Soyuncu Amartey Thomas Mendy Tavares Under Iheanacho Albrighton Vardy Quite a few changes but that’s a strong front four. Brighton are a funny side, I expect they’ll be harder to beat than last time - it was like Dan Burn had muscular dystrophy
Danno Posted 8 February 2021 Posted 8 February 2021 Ward Pereira Amartey Soyuncu Thomas Mendy Taveres / Choudhury Under Perez Albrighton Iheanacho 1
gw_leics772 Posted 8 February 2021 Posted 8 February 2021 Ok, you've won me over, let's go balls deep for the cup and let the kids get tonked against liverpool. At least it shouldn't affect the first teams confidence that way. We're going to wemberleeee 2

Our owners are far better in every department
Gazza M Posted 8 February 2021 Posted 8 February 2021 I think this comp is priority 3 out of the three we are left in. I would rest a few but start Vardy and Ndidi and take them off on the hour mark in an attack minded team with Liverpool in mind. Ward Amartey Soyuncu Fuchs Albrighton Thomas Ndidi Choudhury Perez Iheanacho Vardy 1

UHDrive Posted 8 February 2021 Posted 8 February 2021 Youri needs a break. Hes played in every prem game and most of the EL games. I'd have Maddison on the bench too as since hes been back from injury hes not missed a game either in this tight fixture list.
