Hopefully he doesn’t stick with 5 at the back just cos we won the last game. Need to adapt for each game.

no chance he changes it Grelish in for Saka will be the only change I feel

No chance he'll play 3-4-3 against Ukraine. It's completely unnecessary in a game where we will dominate possession against a team that will sit back.

Pickford just on Sky Sports, is he a robot? Like watching Red Dwarf, very strained interview.

It’s not Pickford being interviewed - media trained, FA PR answers. The media guy gets the questions, answers them and tells the players what to say.

So in my attempt to put it this into Leicester terms :D

We've beat Southampton 1-0 at home. Drew 0-0 with Palace. Beat Burnley 1-0. Beat Everton 2-0 at home. Now we've got Brighton at a Neutral ground for a chance to play Villa or Burnley at home in the semi's.

But it aint is it...!!

& Thats the problem....having fans who can only consistently Demean & discredit Everything England does..

Like some Dozos when Leicester play..!!

Yesterday I read somebody claim that even if we go all the way to the final and win it, people won't have happy memories of this tournament because England have been too defensive. I get that some English people just can't get into supporting England - nobody's forcing them to watch the games. But to hate your own country's national team to such a extent that you become utterly deranged about it is a bit odd.

Was it a Che Adams?

He’s a decent ref - a bit fussy sometimes

He let a lot go in the Belgium vs Portugal match. For me, he let too much go but I would rather that than those refs who blow up every few seconds for nothing. Either way, as you say, he is a very good ref and has been around for a while.

I don't think the ref will decide this match.

Yes hopefully we will be good enough to decide the game ourselves.

He’ll probably just be hoping for a quieter game than he got from the Portugal and Belgium players!

This could go the way of Sweden 2018 or Iceland 2016. There's no inbetween lol

So we either win or we lose? That’s a bold call lol

It's so weird. Yesterday I read somebody claim that even if we go all the way to the final and win it, people won't have happy memories of this tournament because England have been too defensive. I could only assume that this person somehow missed the footage of 40,000+ delirious fans at Wembley and all the news footage of people celebrating wildly all around the country. Presumably, this individual was also unaware than when we won the World Cup in '66 (which we're still obsessed with 55 years later), we did so by playing precisely the kind of well-organised, pragmatic football that Southgate is currently deploying to great effect.

I get that some English people just can't get into supporting England - nobody's forcing them to watch the games. But to hate your own country's national team to such a extent that you become utterly deranged about it is a bit odd.

People think you can win tournaments easily with gun ho attacking play but how often does it actually happen? Looking at Euros and World Cups in the past 20 years you could say Brazil 2002 and Germany 2014 were attacking but even they were pragmatic when they needed to be. So even accepting those two, thats 2 winners out of last 9 Euro/World Cup tournaments.

People have an overly romanticised idea of football and the way it is played.

I don't think it's unique in that regard, either.

We need a thorough performance to show we're a team that could beat Italy, the team of the tournament so far.

England ain't beating Italy.

They will scrape through tonight and probably lose to Denmark in the semis
