That sums it up really.

Oh just a few other things you need to know

There are TWO Steve Walsh's... One was a legendary player in the Martin O'Neil (MON) era and before who spent 14 years at the club, a centre half with a penchant for breaking opposition players jaws, picking up red cards and record bans who turned centre forward and scored some historic goals (including 2 in the play off final). The other one was head of recruitment and is widely believed to be responsible for our template of finding fantastic players in lower leagues (Mahrez, Kante Vardy etc)

Do not under any circumstances mention Dennis Wise unless in respect of what a total cnut he was.

We used to play at Filbert Street, KP stadium is on Filbert Way and our mascot is Filbert Fox.

The Birch is a former player from the 1970's (when were briefly very good) who is now public relations officer

It is obligatory that you call Ayoze Perez rubbish at every opportunity, regardless of which thread you are actually contributing to.

Vardy is GOAT

We love our owners

A healthy disregard for anything actually factual is also necessary when posting here.

Sean from Enderby talks bllx but likes everyone to think he is actually ITK

I think that's the first time I've read that misspelt 4 letter word as the correct spelling. Must be the subject matter

One more thing.

We have a squad, not a roster.

We play football not soccer

we have kits not uniforms

some people get very upset on here when our American cousins use that terminology

I say hi to you all from all the way over here in the United States...Charlotte, North Carolina to be exact.  As a new fan, I obviously only have some (closer to little) knowledge about the team, so I was hoping if anyone could help me with any insight or information that I need to know about the team so that I'm ready to cheer on my new favorite team for this upcoming season and on.

If anyone cares as to how I came to becoming an LCFC fan, here's how it happened...

Apart from being born into it, I feel like most people get their fandom and build their love for a team during their childhood period.  Unfortunately, soccer's popularity here in the States was extremely low during that period of time for me.  I'm in my mid-20s now and the sport seems like it did not start gaining true popularity here until about a decade ago, so I feel like I never had the opportunity since I was never truly exposed to the sport early to gain that love and interest.  I didn't know about leagues like the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, etc.  (Hell, I didn't even know we had our own league here in the US), I thought only national teams played the sport.

As I mentioned, the popularity started to pick up for it here, which finally caught my interest around 2017.  I started to watch a little of every league here and there.  Now, for me, and I believe for almost all, it's way more fun and easier to be into a sport when you have a favorite team, as that makes it all more interesting.  Now, my favorite teams are all my local hometown teams (Carolina Panthers for the NFL, Charlotte Hornets for the NBA, and Carolina Hurricanes for the NHL...I'm loyal, baby), so I'm basically born into them.  During this time, even though I still enjoyed watching games, I still found it hard to be fully into it as I did not have a team to root for since the MLS did not have a team here in Charlotte/Carolina and I did not have any sort of connection to a team in another league either.  It's hard for me to just pick a team out of nowhere with no real reason.

During the past couple of years, the football/fubol/soccer (don't wanna offend anyone) leagues that I've been mostly watching are the MLS and the Premier League.  Then my interest in the sport and the MLS reached major heights when it was announced in late 2019 that my home city of Charlotte was awarded an expansion team (inauguration season being next year), and finally having a hometown team to cheer on.  With my interest in the sport being really high, I started to watch Premier League matches more frequently, still not following one team but I was drawn more towards Leicester City and watched their matches more than the other English teams because of their beautiful kits.

This past season while watching a Leicester City match, I don't remember what sparked the memory but I remembered...back in January of 2016 during the Carolina Panthers' Super Bowl run, Leicester City players and LC's twitter account showing major support for the Panthers during that run (even though back then I had no idea who they were when I saw that tweet).  I feel like this memory eventually started to grow my true love for Leicester City.  I started following Leicester City more closely towards the end of this past season and felt so much disappointment when they were unable to clinch a top-4 finish to qualify for the CL on the last day.  That disappointment that I felt was the first time I ever felt any type of major feeling for a team in this sport, for me to feel that...I knew that I had become an LCFC fan.

Then lastly, the news of Charlotte FC signing Christian Fuchs, just made that connection feel stronger between me and Leicester City and felt like icing on the cake.

I already appreciate you all, and am looking forward to this season!

Welcome :) my partner is from the states and I have stayed in Charlotte before for weeks at a time and loved the city, I could see myself moving there one day (I’m an engineer and do some stuff for NASCAR, so plenty of stuff for interest in the area!). Went to see the Knights play, and visited the BoA stadium for a game whilst I was there too, the connection from the super bowl made me an honorary Panthers fan. You guys have some seriously great fried chicken, and to my surprise, cider (the hard stuff).

Welcome to the family, you chose an English club wisely!

True, for all the admiration we may get, there are always people who hate to see others rise up and from a money grabbing business point of view, I think we are despised by the fat cats and wannabe's:scarf:

If you ever come to Leicester to watch a game, DO NOT stand next to Bernie at a urinal.

I can't stress that enough.

City, just for reference, is not the one in Manchester. The broadcasters want us to refer to them by that name as they are one of their 6 favourite clubs (they were barely a bigger club than us 10 years ago until the oil money arrived and they have bought trophies ever since. No one, outside of Manchester, simply referred to them as 'City' until the money and success arrived). Many have been brainwashed by the media and have fallen into the trap.

'Going down the City' is what most of us have spent our lives doing. Our club is not a passing whim. It's for life.

Foxes. Never. Quit.

Key points to quickly assimilate :-

- We are rubbish

- We’ve been rubbish for 137 years

- In 2016 - 21 we stopped being rubbish and became brilliant

- Now, nobody is quite sure if

we’re rubbish or brilliant.
- The fans on here who think we are rubbish argue with the ones who think we are brilliant.

- The fans on here who think we are brilliant argue with the ones who think we are rubbish.
- Some fans on here will argue the opposite way to you, no matter which camp you, or they, are in.
- Basically, getting emotionally attached to a footie team is brilliant. And rubbish. Often at the same time.

Either way, welcome. 👍 🇺🇸

Welcome to the pleasure dome!

One thing to note, we’re not fond of Nottingham, Derby or Coventry…. They form what is more commonly known as the arsehole of the midlands. Particularly those from Nottingham who are still stuck in the 1980’s.

Welcome, enjoy the ride, and keep your expectation down.

The beauty of Leicester is that despite our recent successes, on the whole our expectation levels are very modest and we celebrate every success.

It is understandable that you chose an English team to support due to its global popularity, and we obviously don't feel that side of it so much.

The best advice I can give is to pour everything into Fuchs new team and your home team as no matter what else happens, nothing beats actually being there and feeling involved.

We appear to have the best forum in foxestalk and you will learn a lot just reading the drivel on here.

On the leicester side, study our history. Go right back to our crappy days to understand why we are who/how we are

Again, welcome and enjoy the ride.

Take no notice of match day threads. You'll think Leicester are two teams.

If winning - we're going to win the League, Rodgers is the new Messiah. Tielemans is worth £300m

If Losing - All the players are Sh1t, it's relegation form, Rodgers out

You’ve picked the club that has somehow managed to bring likeable players, family/community feel, and decent ethics to the upper end of the top league.  Which fans of other clubs had long believed impossible in the current age.  And they are all jealous of that, even though they may not be jealous of our history or our budget!

We already have some FT members in your area.  @MPH and @UPinCarolina and I think a few others.  Maybe with Fuchs on board, Charlotte will become “the” hotbed of LCFC support in the States.  Do your part!

Hello chap!

I live in Concord, NC after moving here from Leicester in my mid 30s.

supporting Leicester will bring you joy, sadness, frustration, pride and a whole lot of hope and anticipation along the way. It will be a fun ride.

I about had a heart attack when Christian Fuchs signed for Charlotte FC as I remember posting  in here about 2 weeks before that, that I was gagging for him to sign for them. I definitely hope to catch some Charlotte games this season.

look up some old games on YouTube- there’s  also a review of the title winning season

Leicester memorabilia can be hard to find in the states and so the  online club shop is the best place to look for all things  ( that’s legit) Leicester .

good to have you on board!

If winning - All the players are Sh1t, we’re going to mess this up, why is Albrighton playing/not playing, Rodgers out.

If Losing - All the players are Sh1t, it's relegation form, Rodgers out

If the game hasn’t started and we’ve just had the team announced - All the players are Sh1t, it's relegation form, Rodgers out

Fixed this for you. But the first line is absolutely crucial…
