It's an odd one. Never really got the chance to show what he can really do.

He did have a couple of chances v Palace and West Ham away last season, he didn’t make any great impact. That was assuming Maddison’s midfield position too

Easy to laugh this off, but Rodgers’ treatment of Praet isn’t going to score any points with Tielemans and Castagne, as all three are close friends.  Timmy doesn’t necessarily have a pack of suitors but Youri is always going to have other options.  Maybe not a big deal but these things can make a difference.

Yeah I'm sure sitting with Dennis Praet at breakfast is the deal breaker for Youri wanting to stay or go

I'm a big Praet fan but his output for us is nowhere bear good enough. He's a lovely footballer but he's never produced enough goals or assists for an attacking midfielder.

It made sense to let him go to balance the squad. When we signed him he was the backup option to McGregor who was the managers preference so always going to stand against him.

I love the little narratives people build up in their heads about the manager and players.

He never had a chance etc 60 apps, in minutes equivalent of 33 whole games.

Sometimes the player has to make himself undroppable.

Think we’ll regret letting him go, even if only on loan - but can’t blame him for wanting to leave.

I can only assume KDH has moved ahead of him in Brendans eyes, but if so that’s a big ask and risk for such a young buck.

For all we know, Praet has gone away being thankful that LCFC treated him well and did everything they could to help his career. We are not the sort of club to make life difficult for our players so I'm sure there won't be any hard feelings.

I think the club see it's as a easy win, moving on a player who has been a bit part, getting part of he's wages of the wage bill, a loan fee and hopefully a future purchase.

In the mean time we he the minutes we had to develop a talent young local player who showing a lot of desire.

Win, Win.

He always looked tidy and composed but he just never quite fit the way we wanted to play. Didn't seem suited to any of the potential positions we needed filling and I think his stock seems to have risen by not playing - the only things I can really remember of him are the Brentford pass and his goal against Soton (a game I try and forget). A good deal for all parties involved.

A decent player for us but no more, he had plenty of chances in his first season and the start of last season and just never really showed anything special. I was never sure of his best position either, always looked like he lacked an attribute for every position. Wish him all the best, hopefully they suit him more than us.

I hope Tielemans is happy. He seems to like Praet. I really hope Brendan's ego isn't going to **** us up. (edit) But watching that he may be right.

Brendans Ego 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Seriously you think we should be keeping multi million assets on the bench and going no where just to keep another player happy 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Youri will be off soon enough as well his agent has plans,

in Brendan we trust

feels strange for people to love such an average player. he reminded me of andy king in the prem

Praet may have had more talent than King, but King was the much more effective player on the Premier League. I liked Praet, but thought he wasn’t always aggressive and involved enough. Too passive for me.

Obviously, we’ve got the memory of the pass of the season against Brentford in the cup which showed he did have the vision, just didn’t do enough, often enough to command a first team place. Wish him all the best.

Shouldn't have sent him to Italy, him today instead of Maddison would have been better, didn't watch the Belgium match this week but read numerous reports that Praet , Tielemans and Castagne linked up really good together. They know how each other plays and and thus probably results in the other playing well.

We can't fit anymore foreign players in PL or the EL squad.

Exactly this! He linked up perfectly with Timmy and Youri in the Belgium match.  I remember many saying this was a combination for the future.  Gutted he went and we kept Perez and Madders!

Second straight win since the transfer, 1-0 over Berardi's Sassuolo.  Praet started and was apparently among Torino's best players but subbed out in the 64th minute with a possible hamstring injury.

I'm not quite sure what 'the way we want to play' is now tbh though? If it's that ponderous build up from the back side to side dirge Rodgers appears to be demanding then he's probably beyond that and best out of it. I think he was underrated and underutilised compared to certain lesser players we've persisted with.

Didn't get much of a chance.

Can't recall him ever having a poor game when he did start / was brought on.

He's a decent player.

Didn’t watch one of his last games for us at West Ham away last season then, he started in Perez’s position like everyone banged on about on here and was absolutely atrocious and we were 3 nil down when he got subbed off (losing 3-2 in the end). Think that might have even his actual last game for us.

....we are not exactly a good team when we encounter West Ham!!!

We do have a tendency to be overrun and lucky not to come away without a hiding.

There are some games you should be more pragmatic and use common sense but Rodgers seems not to understand this.
