moore_94 Posted 17 February 2023 Posted 17 February 2023 I expect we will receive an offer of a loan with us still paying 90% of his wages and Galatasary having a buy option of 50p https://sportwitness.co.uk/club-held-meeting-leicester-striker-transfer-will-make-offer-soon/ Galatasaray have ‘held a meeting’ with Leicester City over striker Patson Daka over a move before the end of the window in Turkey tomorrow. That’s according to Fotomaç, who say the Turkish side are eyeing a move for Dak after Haris Seferovic departed the club. That’s seen them scouring the market for a replacement and a ‘surprise name’ appeared on their agenda; Leicester’s Patson Daka. Galatasaray are ‘closely interested’ in the striker’s situation at the King Power Stadium and have already held a meeting with those in charge at Leicester over a possible transfer. It’s believed the Super Lig will ‘will make an offer’ for Daka at some point, although how much they will offer for a permanent transfer isn’t made clear. However, it is mentioned that Leicester paid €30m to sign Daka from Salzburg two seasons ago, and they would presumably want to recoup as much of that as possible in any deal. Either way, Galatasaray are keen on a deal as they are currently top of the table and ‘want to maintain’ that ‘dominance’ until the end of the season. They are being ‘meticulous’ in their negotiations for the transfer and ‘contacts have started’ about making a deal happen before the Turkish transfer window closes tomorrow. 1
Soar Fox Posted 17 February 2023 Posted 17 February 2023 Can't see us letting him go on loan unless there is a significant mandatory clause to buy in the summer.
Popular Post Mark_w Posted 17 February 2023 Popular Post Posted 17 February 2023 Don't think having just the two natural strikers with 16 games left, still in the FA Cup, and still a fair way off securing safety is a very good idea. 18

Probably getting ready to “take” the pi$$ by offering around 1 per”cent” of our asking “price”
Popular Post majaco Posted 17 February 2023 Popular Post Posted 17 February 2023 Daka is quality waiting to happen. Keep 20 2
TrentFox Posted 17 February 2023 Posted 17 February 2023 Get rid ASAP if a decent offer comes in. Which it won’t, from Turkey/Italy. 1

HankMarvin Posted 17 February 2023 Posted 17 February 2023 Pass if he flops in Turkey he is done here
Tuna Posted 17 February 2023 Posted 17 February 2023 I agree loaning him out but not this season! Madness if we get injuries.
Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 17 February 2023 Popular Post Posted 17 February 2023 Not ready to give up on Daka yet, certainly not a loan to a pony league renown for never paying much for players. 18
Stadt Posted 17 February 2023 Posted 17 February 2023 We’ve barely played to his strengths in the time he’s been here. His per 90 numbers are reasonable, we’d be daft to try and cut our losses this soon. When he’s played with Kel he’s looked great (recurrent theme for most players). 2
FrankieADZ Posted 18 February 2023 Posted 18 February 2023 amazing how views can change so quickly on Daka, still believe he'll come good tbf; lets be right, hes been feeding off scraps at times this season 1
Lcfc-1992 Posted 18 February 2023 Posted 18 February 2023 I’d like to see him now we’ve changed formation and he won’t be as isolated. Only going to be 20 minutes or so though with how Iheanacho is playing. 3
ts_1010 Posted 18 February 2023 Posted 18 February 2023 I think the only way this happens is if it generates money for a player more similar to Kel. Like De Ketelaere. I don't see it happening at all though. Patson could be very effective in this new formation, perhaps just not as effective as big Kel. I actually wouldn't mind seeing him replaced Barnes for 20 mins to see what he's like bursting off of the left. 1
coolhandfox Posted 18 February 2023 Posted 18 February 2023 Not sure we do this in our current position. Letting go to find he scoring boots is not a bad thing.
South Shire Fox Posted 18 February 2023 Posted 18 February 2023 Only striker we should be letting leave now is a finished Vardy 4

But he’s a completely different player to Iheanacho, who stands out in this formation because he drops deep and both wingers then play havoc. Daka plays on the shoulder a lot of that time which he just can’t do in the current set up. 1
TheStig Posted 18 February 2023 Posted 18 February 2023 Keep him and get in De Ketelaere from AC Milan. With Vardy supposedly approaching retirement we need 3 attackers anyway..
Nicolo Barella Posted 18 February 2023 Posted 18 February 2023 Think Daka would score 20 a season for Dyche or Emery. Its a big ask for him to suit Rodgers' style of play though
Popular Post Sharpe's Fox Posted 18 February 2023 Popular Post Posted 18 February 2023 Honestly don't see what other people are seeing. He started plenty of games this season and never looks a consistent threat or up to the level of his teammates. Vardy is still a better player than him. I don't think he's a lost cause quite yet (certainly not to farm out on loan to a shithole) but it seems to me people have an opinion of him based upon what they want him to be rather than reality. 6

Yes there’s a lot of wishful thinking
An Away Move Posted 18 February 2023 Posted 18 February 2023 I’ve seen enough in the first pre-season to know that he can score in a two with Iheanacho.
Popular Post Finnegan Posted 18 February 2023 Popular Post Posted 18 February 2023 (edited) If Rodgers gives the nod to Rudkin to let Daka go on any level I'd sack him on the spot. He came in to this club looking like one of the most natural, composed finishers I've seen at the club. His goals per 90 with fairly limited chances was absurd. He's gone gradually backwards as Rodgers has sapped the confidence out of him. I don't care if you're pro-Rodgers, I don't care if you want him to stay, if you think his qualities outweigh his flaws - but his management of Daka has been objectively shambolic so far. If we end up giving up on him because he's had a difficult run of form in which we've largely created fvck all for him I'll be livid. Iheanacho is starting rightly on merit at the moment but they're two completely different players and having the options between them is vital (they're also absolute sauce when playing together.) Just imagine what a machine he'd be when he improves. There's a sizeable chunk of our fanbase that wants to "get rid" of everyone and anyone when they hit the merest of bad patches. Happened with Maddison a couple of years ago. Has happened before with Barnes, Nacho and Tielemans too. I think we'll regret it if we don't persevere with Daka.
