Apart from the brilliant assist last week?

Fair comment. But more often than not has been an obvious CB playing out of position for me. Mostly sideways and backwards Brendan-style passing around the back. Obviously the getting turned inside and out that has cost a few goals like today would suggest being in an unnatural position has affected his defending too.

Cost us multiple goals so far and offered little going forward considering he's playing fullback.  Time to drop him or give him a chance to replace Vesty at CB for me.

Multiple, we have only conceded 4 in the league.

Coventry corner wasn't his fault.

Cardiff wonder strike not his fault.

Rotherham was his fault

Today a deflection.

We haven't conceded a goal in the cups.

So can you explain the multiple goals he's cost us.

Exactly this. Not sure what people are actually watching but Doyle has been our most consistent player so far this season. So we we lose our first game, show some constructive criticism instead of clutching at straws and talking total bollocks

Today and Rotherham off the top of my head, but maybe chances conceded/duals lost would have been fairer after that as he's been skinned by most right wingers we've faced.

I wouldn't say he has cost us goals nor is he inconsistent but he is definitely uncomfortable in 1v1 situations.

He has been left for dead on a few ocassions now.

yet his pace and recovery stopped them going through on goal 🤷‍♂️

Pace? think Vesty beats him in a race, .Even when he tries to overlap he hardly ever makes it as he is just too slow. Doesn't help that it seems fairly easy to isolate our defenders with this system, but his one on one yesterday was shocking. Hope its a one off, but im not convinced by him as a defender against the better players, good on the ball though

Have we forgotten the absolutely unbelievable pass for the winner at Rotherham or we just gonna slate him because at 19 he’s not the finished article defensively? Not many in our team fire that ball in, never mind a centre half playing as a makeshift left back.

Doyle is a very, very good footballer. There’ll be more positives than negatives to his performances across 46 games.

Things will improve when Coady comes into the team.

What that defence lacks is leadership, and tactical nous. Vesty has neither, he’s a lump who’s half decent on the ball. That goal probably doesn’t get conceded if you’ve got an organiser at the back. Doyle does hang his meld out to dry from time to time, and you need someone to rein it in….
