Imagine being massively overspent against FFP rules and then choosing to spend £7.5m on a 4th choice striker after you've been relegated. FFS, this really does sum up the sheer mismanagement of the club in recent years.

Selling Hurst for pittance and splurging £7.5 million on Cannon and never playing him is nuts

Imagine being rated behind Daka!!!.

It's like Anne Widdicombe winning rear of the year with Rachel Riley coming 2nd.

Widdecombe wins it on personality for me.

Two things I thought I would never see.

1. LCFC throwing away a commanding lead at the top of the table.

2. Anne Widdicombe and Rachel Riley being mentioned in the same sentance.

I have very little evidence to go on, but I just have a feeling that Cannon is a decent striker with a solid future ahead.

Surprised how little Enzo used him this season, as I'd personally have played him ahead of Daka.

I'd like to keep Vardy and Cannon, but also bring in a new starting No.9. Daka and Nacho to go.

No benefit whatsoever in sending him out on loan, needs to learn the role of how a number 9 plays in this system, with all due to respect to both Preston and Blackburn that won’t happen with them, their style of play couldn’t be further from how we play, best option would be clubs who play similar us like Southampton if they stay down. Personally I would keep him here as I think a full pre season he will really kick on.

Maybe if Kel and Daka goes he will get more game time but, I suspect Enzo will bring in another striker. Wouldn’t be surprised if we were willing to sell.

disagree. Whilst i feel he deserved more of a shot with us this season, I don’t think he’d be ready for a big role in the prem just yet.

Hes young, so another year in the championship could really improve him as a player. Let him hit 20-25 goals at a club then he’ll be ready!

I like him but this signing made no sense at all. It’s as if enzo had no say in it at all and rudkin just sanctioned it

Daka was leaving and then Nacho would've been gone late December or so for AFCON

It did make sense - until Daka ended up staying

Enzo strikes me as someone who would have a lot of controll over the signings

In is first window after getting his first english managerial job, i strongly doubt it. Would imagine he would have been consulted for sure, but the club would largely have been using connections they had already made.

I imagine some of the conversations coming up about next season will try and address that.

Re Cannon, everyone seems to forget he arrived injured and had no preseason at all. If he was to not get loaned, i imagine this preseason prep will be very important for him.

When Cannon signed, Enzo said it was a signing with the long term future in mind. As you say he arrived injured, also playing the no 9 role in Maresca’s system is very complex and probably requires a lot of coaching to get up to speed. A full pre season and I think we will see a very different Tom Cannon next season.

I suspect Maresca will demand a lot more influence over transfers than just being ‘consulted’. He needs players who are capable of playing in the style he wants us to play. He will want the ultimate say on who we buy and sell.
