All the teams in mid table are genuinely light years ahead of us, it’s going to take a long time to even be in a position of finishing mid table. We need huge investment.

We can't invest thanks to FFP. We need to become sustainable somehow, run like a business, a tight ship, proper strategy instead of a rich lad play thing.

Why does that make them a "small time club".

Sounds like you're the one with the chip on your shoulder.

(I'm not an Arsenal supporter, just a realist)

I never called them a small time club. I was just using that post to make a point about their fans.

Yes, you are correct and I retract my comment. It was @Ian Nacho

My point re: chip on shoulder still stands, though.

You can't judge a manager really with no preseason/transfer window. Any manager coming half way though a season is on a hiding to nothing.

That's why I'm minded to stick with Rudd as let's face it who else are we gonna get in? Maybe given time, with his contacts, time to stamp his authority etc he will cone good.

I actually think sometimes you gotta get worse to get better it's part of the deadwood cleansing and that's what's happening at United to, they've gotta stick with it a remove the toxic dross, we need a similar process, it most likely leads us towards League 1.

The guy hasn't tried to really change anything in the games he's had.

Pep never should have signed that new deal, for the first time probably in his career he looks fed up and lost of ideas. Perhaps it's just he's he's won everything for Man City and now it's burnout.

This is the first weekend when I think Forest will qualify for the champions league.

Man City and Newcastle are far too inconsistent, same goes for the teams further back like Villa.

Had a great afternoon watching the cheats getting hammered

Stay humble haaland lad

They've proved his point down to a tee today. Actually embarrassing from Arsenal.

Rashford officially joins Villa.

I presume he won't be allowed to play against Man U and Villa will be paying a good % of his wages.

He hasn’t but with really limited options there's only so much you can change. We know really the squad doesn't have the quality, I am not sure it can be kept up, The defenders aren't good enough, the midfield isn't good enough, we have a 38 year old striker, a winger who can't be arsed to run and a few old geezers. People say play 5 at the back or in midfield but that's likely to further stifle a team with little creativity. I think you could play all our defenders and theyd still **** it up.

Obviously enjoyed that match.  I am not sure how Man City fans feel about Haarland not touching the ball for 37 mins in that first half.  Of course he scored, but overall easy to forget he was actually on the pitch.

Rashford needed that move away from United, his career has been on pause for like two years. I'm surprised he hasn't gone abroad somewhere like Germany. Villa maybe a good move from him, perhaps Emery is a good manager to turn his career round... somehow think it's going to take a lot to turn round Rashford's career.

Rashford needs to sort himself out, he's git talent but only he can have the desire to apply it. He needs a manager with some beliefs in him, but also someone who won't let him slack.

Funny that a hard working Arsenal can thrash a depressed Man City. Have a look at that Leicester players.

I was thinking this same thought.

Knackered, out of new ideas, other teams working harder.

He might see this season out but where will he go next? What more does he have to prove?

Maybe go somewhere he hasn't been, Italy, Portugal, France and their top sides?

If he goes, it'll need to be a team that has genuine Champions League potential or current CL success.

I don't include Celtic in that BTW.
