Probably to protect ourselves on having enough time to get a replacement before the end of the window.

This is John Rudkin we are talking about, more chance it was a typo 🤣

Logic would suggest, it’s actually at the end of the month.

12 months after he signed.

2 Weeks before 12 months seems odd

Maybe timed to be the day before the PL starts (or more likely what ric said)

Mental if we even entertain a release clause not being paid up front

Only reason we wouldn't do that is if we agreed to the overall outlay being more.

HMS Piss the league currently being weighed in for scrap.

Another summer where the average paid decent players go, and the well paid average players stay getting us into more psr mess

This is where it all comes to a head…….

Well and truly done, and I bet we won’t spend a penny of it either, because everyone will leave so late in the window we won’t have time to react.

... and then we apply for another loan from the loan sharks so we can have it all upfront this season.

A release clause was possibly the only way ELK would’ve come to us last season, particularly as it happened after Maresca jumped ship. If someone triggers a release clause correctly there’s not much we can do other than hope he chooses to stay. In the short term it might give Page and Alves more opportunities. I have to say I’m surprised Newcastle would be interested, don’t really see his position as a priority for them, particularly with their lack of strikers.

Was always going to happen and the short sighted bellends in charge have managed to facilitate the fire sale happening way too late for us to react even with decent loan signings. ****ing disgrace after disgrace this ownership.

Most logical. The other thing is that the PL starts this week, so if it's not a relegation clause (unlikely) then it would also be saying that we need it done before the start of the season

Going down.

Why’s everyone so flappy about this? He was always going to be sold. We expected this and Mads all along, but now apparently the world is ending?
