The players mentality with a lead against a good side is unchanged compared to under Southgate. For all their talk they suddenly lose belief. That happened 20 mins before Tuchel made any subs. His subs are reacting to that loss of mentality from the players in my opinion.

I think its the fact Tuchel wont learn from this and change anything in the future annoys me the most.

I do find it hard to solely blame Tuchel but surely he was brought in to shift this loser mentality and get us over the line. So for him to cost us is a complete and utter failure.

 

Players shouldn't be given a free pass either though, none of our big game players turned up last night. Overall the performances haven't been good and when we've faced a team who are at worst our equal we've been found out

If Tuchel genuinely has no regrets regarding his tactics after the goal, he probably needs to go. He’s paid far too much money to make those mistakes, that’s exactly the scenario he was brought in to navigate. Pathetic from him and I’m a big fan of the bloke.

Spain the previous night absolutely neutralised Mbappe by keeping the ball at one end of the pitch. They’d got Messi playing in midfield. Conceding the terrority like that gave Messi the literal game he’s played about 800 times in his life having a low block defence. You the GOAT in his familiar position.

couldnt agree more, Spain the night before as you said showed how to go about things when 1 up

what Tuchel did just shows he doesnt trust any of the squad really in any sort of sense and to go with the fact tuchel bottled it massively

it was an even game before england scored as well, i hope the players etc had a go at tuchel too; ive also actually seen people thinking tuchel did a good job and shouldnt be sacked, after that disasterclass he deserves to be

another thing, at least the scots/welsh/irish(the one sarnie sort of a picnic ones) wont have to spend anymore money on other nations flags/shirts.......how sad

Best chance is abit of a stretch

 

we crashed out to the current World Champions and if we won, we’d have faced the current European Champions 

 

we had “a” chance but we still had an unfavourable path forward

See above - maybe he is taking the flak for the player’s mentality issue when the chips re really down. 
 

but then these players have made it through last two euro semi finals - late extra time winner v Denmark and last minute winner v Holland.  I suppose neither of those shout control.

The game was set up perfectly and we threw it away. I wonder if it will cost Tuchel his job. It's been a while since I last saw a manager completely **** up all 5 substitutions. All tournament long England have looked very good on the counter attack and Argentina have looked very good around a crowded penalty area yet we decided to go with no pace up front and a striker that could barely jog.

 

We got away with it against Mexico because nobody in their team could cross the ball yet every cross last night into our area was bang on the money. No cross was being closed down and it was only a matter of time. From going 1-0 up we should have lost that 5-1 with a bit more Argentina composure from those in the area and that can't ever happen.

 

Hopefully Argentina's success can prove to be a blueprint for these young English lads. Are they willing to sacrifice their club careers to ensure they're in prime condition for a World Cup? Rice, Kane and Saka are three of our players that could be considered 'world class' yet they've all been on their arse for most of the tournament.

BBC made nothing of it, the England fans I was watching the game while chatting to had no mention of it. let's be honest, you're looking for someone to blame and rather than blaming your manager for being a coward, your 116m defensive midfielder for not closing down a bloke who has a record of long rangers and was looking for that shot all game, or your collection of 6ft defenders letting a 5'9 bloke get a free header, you're looking to feel cheated. Ref was adequate, completely unnoticeable to any neutral - England lost that because they surrendered all initiative from the moment they scored and defended like clowns
