The "do they mean us?" thread

Recommended Posts

Carragher going on about us maybe not being ready for so many games in a short space of time over Christmas, this core of this team bossed the Championship playing Saturday- Tuesday every other week? and we really don't get credit for our depth.

that's because Geoff Stelling apart Sky's presenters aren't picked on football knowledge

It's obvious they don't know anything about us because most of them think we have just signed Vardy and Mahrez. You would think they would remember the end of last season when we finished stronger than anyone else, but that fact goes against their simple belief of us not being able to keep it up. They wont say we can win until it's mathematically impossible for anyone to catch us and even then some of them wont say it, because their tiny brains can't cope with the reality of the big name clubs being beaten by a better run club.

Quite a bit of love for us on the twoplustwo poker forum.  Thread is about English football and chat is dominated by a few Arsenal/Spurs/ManU/Liverpool fans but general consensus is that we are well loved by most although they don't know much about us.  We would be mad to sell in January, we have a great chance of CL football although one guy thought it would ruin English football's coefficient score as we would do so badly.  There was an Arsenal fan on there rooting for us every week, wanting us to win the league unless it became a two horse race between us and them and even then he wouldn't mind us winning!  A few extra signings and we are in with a real chance.  Someone suggested we try to sign Adebayor!  :xmaslaugh:

Jamie Vardy won a penalty? No prizes for guessing whose fans have a thread about that.

You'd have thought they'd be over it two years on.

Had to sit there and have a smile at this. Jesus Christ football fans can be so ****ing thick it's unreal. People actually sit there and without a hint of irony try to tell you that a team getting more penalties than another is either 'luck' or 'bias'.

Only dubious one we've had all season was Norwich, and I'm pretty sure we've had enough wrongfully turned down to even that up.

We've had 7 penalties so far this season. Compare that to Chelsea who have only had 1, and that was last weekend against Sunderland.

Vs Sunderland. Legit penalty. Cattermole took the legs off Mahrez.

Vs Bournemouth. Legit penalty. Vardy was too quick and their defender completely mistimed the tackle. Bournemouth players didn't even bother complaining.

Vs Stoke. Slightly dubious IMO. Drinkwater let Arnautovic bump into him from the back. It was stupid by Arnautovic but Drinkwater knew what he was doing.

Vs Norwich. Another dubious penalty. Similar to Drinkwater v Stoke. Vardy slowed down his speed and let Bassong bump into him from the back.

Vs Watford. 100% stonewall penalty. Gomes completely wiped out Vardy.

Vs Eveton (x2). Both were definite penalties. First one Mori is so clumsy and fouls Okazaki. Second Howard completely takes out Vardy.

So I'd say only 2 of the 7 were dubious.

Is this board populated by a bunch of Steven Patrick Morisseys? All this need to be loved.

We're a small club who most folks couldn't give two shits about. The reason we aren't picked for sky games is because no **** would watch them. The reason we don't get wall to wall press coverage is because outside of Leicestershire not many people give a **** and certainly wouldn't buy a paper based on the prospect of reading for the hundredth time that Mahrez cost X and Vardy played non league don't you know!

It's not that no one likes us, it's more that no one cares enough yet. Do this for a few years then people care; do it for a few months and people forget.

What a load of bollocks - we're genuine title contenders, the story of not just the season but probably the decade and the most entertaining side in the division. You really think no one would watch if we were on tv?

Depends who we're playing. We're not exactly top draw material yet - mean our Sky games were picked because they involved United and Chelsea. Most of our games have been Saturday's at 3 so far this season haven't they?

They have, but that's besides the point. We should have been on in our own right, not just the opponents for the day in the van gaal show, and with the season so far people would obviously sit up and watch, contrary to fleckneys claim

If Norwich were top of the league would you go out of your way to watch their games?

I know the MOTD selection can get on people's tits, but the BBC can't always select the same team as a starter, no matter how good they play. It's all about the balance.

We can't really complain too much - at least we're usually not the last game on show these days. :D
