Next Leicester City Manager Odds

Recommended Posts

It's interesting to speculate on how the owners are presenting the club to prospective managers. Wonder if they're selling us a 'stable' club or a 'massively ambitious' one? The next Stoke, or the next Man City?

As much as I dislike their decision to get rid of Pearson, they do seem to be pretty level-headed when it comes to advancing the club.

Now then...an interesting story.

I have been a Dortmund follower, then supporter since I was quite young.Leicester obviously my first team being place of birth.

I travelled the world, and underway met a Mainz fan and his mate who was a relation to klopp.Discussions over English and German leagues. When I settled in Germany, I fanatically followed Dortmund, but city was always nr1.Even in the bad times, Dortmund in contrast was a stable Bundesliga club, but also had their downs.

I moved to an area south of Mainz, and a near neighbour and another who I met, were Mainz05 players.

In this period a guy called jürgen klopp played for them, and became a favourite, I stayed true to Dortmund, but because of near vicinity and a great change that secured them Bundesliga status, I took my son, to the home games who become a welcome visitor to Uwe Stovers house, we got to know some of the players.

Klopp retired became manager, and then left to go to Dortmund.

Now wouldnt that round it off, if Klopp became the foxes manager.Even weird...

ps...not forgetting, the next connection, Shinji, signed from Mainz

Until a new manager is put in place, all bets are on, it depend how much , how quick do the city owners want us to develope,

What money are they willing to invest...they too may have big dreams.

No one is mentioning Shakespeare in all of this.

If Pearson went because of issues over his Son, or because he lost his temper or because of his stubbornness, and they weren't planning on sacking him, then maybe they will want to keep some form of stability and promote from within.

If they have sacked him because he doesn't share their ambition then surely they will not be getting in Dyche/Warnock/Lambert even Allardyce/Moyes would be a bit of a backward step, they will be looking for a proven winner.

Oh lovely!!!

Here, Starsport looks at who could take over the reins at the East Midlands club.

SAM ALLARDYCE

An obvious name after he was shown the door by West Ham on the final day of last season. Allardyce boasts a wealth of experience managing top-flight clubs, among them Bolton, Blackburn and four years with the Hammers. He could be the man to steer Leicester safely away from a relegation scrap next term.

NEIL LENNON

Currently in charge of Championship side Bolton, Lennon knows the Foxes well having spent four years there as a player. A favourite with the fans, Bolton's well-publicised financial problems could persuade the Northern Irishman to seek a surer footing elsewhere.

PAUL LAMBERT

Another name on the unemployed list, Lambert has been without a managerial post since leaving Aston Villa in February after almost three years in charge. The Scot has several pluses on his CV, not least leading Norwich to the Premier League in 2010 although his struggles with Villa last season could count against him.

SEAN DYCHE

Although he was unable to save Burnley from relegation after just one season at the highest level, Dyche won many admirers in the Premier League for his never-say-die attitude. Amiable and down to earth, Dyche is capable of coaxing the best out of players without attracting the controversial headlines.

GUS POYET

Former Sunderland manager Poyet would be available to step straight into the hot seat at the King Power Stadium, having severed ties with the Black Cats four months ago. However, his outspoken nature could deter a club like Leicester who endured a fair amount of negative press under Pearson last season.

I know it's wildly unlikely, but the wording of this article might make interesting reading for those who fancy us pulling off a Klopp Coup.
