WigstonWanderer Posted 11 July 2016 Share Posted 11 July 2016 You also need a top bollocks manager who is great tactically. It helped that we built a great squad over a few years too. Not everybody has an equal chance of winning the league. Our exploits aren't going to be repeated by a Watford or a Sunderland because the others have strengthened significantly with better managers and by the end of the window better squads than last season. Leicester Chelsea Liverpool Arsenal Man Utd Man City West Ham Can't see anyone other than Everton or Palace breaking into that top 7 let alone winning the title. Team spirit and hard work will only get you so far. That's why Burnley still went down a couple of seasons ago. They gave 100% in every game but they didn't build the right squad. Dyche may have improved tactically but it seems like they are making the same mistake in terms of players this season. At some point you need quality. Maybe Saints? MC Prussian Posted 11 July 2016 Share Posted 11 July 2016 So are you saying one of Burnley's players in going to be as good as Mahrez next season? Erm, no - that's not what I was saying.

Corky Posted 11 July 2016 Share Posted 11 July 2016 £3 million bid for Jeff Hendrick is absolute Dyche. Just low enough to make everyone think he's working on a shoestring and keeping Burnley afloat as it's rejected by the Sheep, then Newcastle bid £2 million more, sign him and Burnley aren't in that market. Jaspa Posted 11 July 2016 Share Posted 11 July 2016 an abomination of a ball I quite like the multi coloured patternwork but strapping what looks to be thick polythene tape around the seams was a bad choice
RowlattsFox Posted 11 July 2016 Share Posted 11 July 2016 Considering the money burnley spent last year in the championship i thought they'd learnt that they'd need to spend to compete. Clearly not. Bids for Jeff Hendrik and Dale Stephens rejected.

Webbo Posted 11 July 2016 Share Posted 11 July 2016 It is absolutely Dyche what makes me laugh is he Offers £3 mill for Hendrick but values Keane at £20 mill He wants as much as possible when he's selling and spend as little as possible when he's buying. Surely that's how all clubs should act?

ALC Fox Posted 11 July 2016 Share Posted 11 July 2016 Pelle moved to China. It's an odd one, this. He had an OK Euros and has clearly been good for Southampton. He's had his poor spells as well as his purple patches, but I'd have thought he would still have something to offer in the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga or La Liga. Is he going to have a chance of representing Italy in the World Cup or even the qualifying campaign now?
jammie82uk Posted 11 July 2016 Share Posted 11 July 2016 It's negotiating. Starting with what could be considered a derisory offer is not the best way to start negotiations
ealingfox Posted 11 July 2016 Share Posted 11 July 2016 To be honest Pelle is exactly the kind of player who is justified in going to China and making the $$$. He's over 30, good enough to be well-known but not good enough to get a move to a club over here who'll pay him 100k+ or that wins trophies. If he's getting 20m a year there he'd be a mug not to take it.

Finnegan Posted 12 July 2016 Share Posted 12 July 2016 Mourinho is ****ing insane. Apparently he wants to sell Mata again. Everton interested. I'd definitely have a cheeky bid. If we're unsure about our ability to break down stubborn defences, Mata has to be one of the best playmakers going.
