The work of Pearson, Walsh and Shakespeare has been phenomenal for us.

I'm really not sure that I'd want him on in his own. I fear he may be a bit McCartney without Lennon and Harrison, and nobody wants another frog chorus from the man who gave us yesterday and hey Jude.

Glib comment, but I find it hard not to disagree. It's hard to say Pearson would have been that successful without Walsh finding Mahrez and Vardy to name only two. I would be happy though. Derby was crazy but I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. Good championship manager.

It's also worth pointing out that he struggles to handle big names like Jermaine Beckford and Neil Danns, instead opting for lesser names and egos such as Esteban Cambiasso and Nolberto Solano.

Absolute legend, and if you get him I would put everything I have in you winning the Championship next season.

A perfect mix for success, a decent squad of players who appear to be together, an understanding chairman and Nige who knows how to win that division Coupled with his knowledge of Boro, the fan base and expectations.

i spoke to someone who will be coming with him if he is given the job yesterday, he wants the job . he was interviewed a while back , he thought he wasn't getting the job due to the length of time its been since . he's a no nonsense manager that either likes you or hates you , not much in the middle  . his media skills are zilch and thats a big problem for him . could go either way with our Nigel !!

NP will know what he wants for the project of getting Boro out of the Championship.  If he is interviewed for the position i expect him to make that very clear and if he is not promised what he thinks is necessary he most likely wouldn't take the job, legend at the club or not.  He has always come across to me as a principled person with clear ideas so is likely to be very choosy in selecting which job to take.

I expect that he would be attracted by the Boro job, especially since they already have a decent team which doesn't need major surgery to be a successful one.  If he becomes manager then he will build a great team spirit - even when we were at the bottom of the PL and results weren't going our way a couple of seasons ago the squad always seemed to be in good heart.  If Boro get him and keep him I expect to see them back in the PL sooner rather than later.

Was successful (obviously) for us, Players appear to like him, needs a good team and some big bucks behind him. Not someone I "liked" as the manager of my club, but success and promotion  is the goal.

Didn't like him as a personality but does have strengths and with his team created the strong basis of our current team

You have a great chairman and if they could form a partnership could be great

Nigel needs managing and his ego winding in occasionally

Don't let him take his kids on your team's foreign tours.

But to be fair to the chap, it was the team he built that won the league, and he got them in the Premier league and started the run with the great escape.

I absolutely loved the bloke. Personally, I found his supposed lack of tact with the media endearing.

The guy will get you out of the Championship quickly for sure.  Not too sure about whether he can cut it in the Prem though. Think you lot might have stayed up this year if you had gone and found someone who knew where the goal was.

How Karanka did not recognize that you were total dross up front before the start of the season amazes me. Or was it that Gibson would not give him the cash?  Also if you had canned Karanka sooner and got Allerdice, you still might have stayed up as well. Mind you , you might now have the Scluppster at left back as well?

Best manager Leicester have ever had hands down, and it's not even close.

He's a manager who gets everything within the club right from top to bottom. He came to us and turned us from a rotten underachieving club to a well-run, united and hungry unit.

He'd be a great appointment for you at Boro, especially with him being a former player too. I hope you get him in as I like Boro.

Brilliant manager

I'll always have a tremendous amount of respect for the bloke. He revolutionised the whole club as far as I'm concerned. He's not necessarily an impact manager but the work he does behind the scenes is quite spectacular. I know we had an incredible head of recruitment in Steve Walsh, but the signings we made under Pearson were for the most part, excellent. Don't just think of the likes of Vardy, Mahrez, Albrighton, Drinkwater etc. but if you look at the three nominees for player of the season in the Championship this season, we signed two of them in Knockaert and Wood. If he was to become your manager then I'd wish him and you all the best.

Probably that he ****in hates people who are self indulgent enough to do autobiographys.

Keeps everything behind closed doors, a strong set of morals and dignity.

I find it weird that people slam Claudios tactics this season, yet ignore some of the absolute shite Pearson did. Bringing on Hammond rather than Cambiasso at home to burnley, persisting with Konchesky, persisting with De Laet, not playing Albrighton, playing Vardy on the wing, thinking GTF could cut it in the prem. I'm not here to say he was a bad manager, I loved the bloke and was gutted when he left, but some people seem to forget some of the tactics he actually came out with.

On another note, I found his dealings with the media extremely entertaining, he hated the press which I dont think is a bad thing and his antics took the pressure off the team.

Correct.

Did a very good job.

His distain for the press was hilarious.

Tactically he was found out in the PL and dispite what many are saying on here - he didn't win the PL for us, in the main aside from swapping Kante for Cambiasso he was very close to getting that team relegated.

For reasons only known to himself, after tearing the Championship to pieces Vardy (where I think he scored 16 goals, countless assists, and umpteen penalties won for Nugent to score) was consigned to either the bench or the wing in that season.

Its understood however, that the coaching and tactics were Shakespeare, and the signings all Walsh. He employed them and as a combination they rebuilt the club, but if you have all that in place I'm not entirely certain how things will work out without that pair. It's an unknown.

I liked Pearson from the moment he came to City, after we were relegated to Division Three for the first time. Everyone associated with the club was down - fans, players, backroom staff - and Pearson picked us all up with a fantastic (hopefully never to be repeated) Division-Three-winning season. From there on, he gave us more great times, including two Championship play-offs, the Championship title, the Greatest Ever Escape and the PL-winning team. Best manager we've had since I became a fan - and I've been a fan for over sixty fvckin' years.

Aside from that, one really interesting thing about Pearson (especially given all the people - including some City fans - who say he is a cnut, kn0bhead and worse) is the loyalty that he inspires on others. Shakespeare, Walsh and a lot of the key sports-science/fitness staff followed him to City, to Hull and back again, while the players who bought into his thinking would work their hearts out for him. One reason - and I think there were many - that things started falling apart for Ranieri last season was the dismantling of Pearson's back-room team. That and the lack of spirit in the team.

If Boro do get Pearson, you will be back in the PL within a couple of seasons - not necessarily next season, because it may take Pearson time to get things sorted. If Shakespeare doesn't get the City job full time, he'll likely follow Pearson, as will several others, including Chris Powell and Kevin Phillips. Have a bet on you winning the PL in 2021-22!
