I don't dislike him but I don't think he's really influenced any game bar Everton at home this season, and he's had his chances now.

Annoying thing is I think he'd flourish at Spurs for some reason, more so than he would here.

Yes he seems to be stuck in a rut with us. Perhaps best to let him go for the right price.

A more established club for sure but not a bigger club, the League Cup was the last trophy they won.

They'll be getting crowds of 60k next season and have been in the Champions League for the past two seasons (which'll be three next) and look a very solid and well run top 4 side.

I know it's all down to how anyone manages to quantify "bigness" (oi oi) which varies person to person and is definitely influenced by bias - we've won more than them in my lifetime but can we please not kid ourselves. Their fans seem to be cretins by and large and they're perennial underachievers but they're a bloody big club.

Same sort of people think Newcastle aren't a big club, "The last trophy they won was the intercity fairs cup blah blah blah ! ! !".

Pretty much exactly how I feel.

I don't think he'll get anymore game chances at one of those top 6 clubs than he does with us.

Probably improve his full England squad chances though even if he played less.

i so want him to do well. Seems to be fustrated as bit part player. If mahrez goes will this increase his chances? and sway him to stay for 1 more season.

I reckon he'll progress a lot next year. That'll either be here as a starter or elsewhere if he isn't granted that. If we're serious about playing attacking fullbacks and inside forwards, he'll do better.

Possibly but I'd rather see him on the right, getting to the byeline and crossing.

there is no reason wingers cannot swap wings all game other than Mahrez not wanting to

Didn’t we turn down £30,000,000 from Bornemouth for him?

I’ve said it before, he’s a bit like Raheem Sterling, raw talent that will have purple spells. Frustrating as sin though!

I’d take £25m - no hesitation. Since Puel took over he’s been given plenty of chances, especially at the start of his reign, and he’s been largely dissaponting.

And look at the season Sterling has had.  Gray has better feet than Sterling and doesnt have the clangers in him that Sterling has I reckon

Gray has potential to be at least as good as Sterling

For me, Gray is a very talented player with a lot to learn. His only barrier to learning (it appears to me anyway) is a bit of humility. I like confidence, it can take you far, but it can sometimes prevent you from listening to the wisdom of others.

I've seen Gray a couple of times gesturing to players, motioning where he wanted them to be. Just like Iborra and Silva do. I thought 'no no no', you haven't earned the respect of your team mates (yet) to start doing that, you're a kid on the learning path. He ought be committed to learning his trade and enhancing the natural skills he clearly has.

I think he needs a run of games, he's inconsistent but even Mahrez has his bad run of games (Quite a few in a row now for example!). He does however have the ability to produce that piece of magic. He needs nurturing but I also think he needs game time to improve and understand his teammates more.

He's gone through a good enough spell with good work against Newcastle for the goal and almost had an assist v Burnley.

Would be good to get one major performance from him in the next 5 games to justify keeping him. Too often he just doesn't build on a decent display.

Wouldn't surprise me if we sold him and got Grealish in!
