fuchsntf Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 I rate this squad, these games are friendlies, but a few newbies can stake their claims for WCup squad selection. Ali out, actually gives Southgate a better chance to see, what he /England has from a couple of unknowns and maybes. unlike some, I would like to see Wilshere, if matchfit. Yes he is a walking sicknote, but he does have international quality, and plays a game, that England sorely miss.
Leicesterpool Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 At the moment who would be in your world cup squad come June?
lgfualol Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 Southgate will just choose some Spurs youth player over Gray

Don't be stupid, Alli might be ruled out but they still involve him in the camp/select him...why not? They did it when he couldn't play because he was suspended. To be quite honest I don't want Gray to be involved, or any Leicester player for that matter any more, they come back worse for it. A serial loser camp is what the England camp is. England and The FA need an overhaul as much as we do within our recruitment set up. Desperately.
Wymsey Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 Jack Butland should be given more of an opportunity. He looks more stable than Hart who seems mistake-prone in every game that he plays in now.

AjcW Posted 5 November 2017 Posted 5 November 2017 They name pretty massive squads now so don’t tend to bother calling up replacements as they’re already there. If he does thought it’ll be DD as he’s had some minutes.
urban.spaceman Posted 6 November 2017 Posted 6 November 2017 So to replace the injured Alli, Southgate has brought in............... Michael Keane. K.

But one player that stands out personally is Lingard - every time I see him play, he's often very wasteful and not intelligent enough on the ball. Can't understand his presence there, or in the Manchester United team tbh. Totally agree. Never seen anything from him that suggests he is England quality. But as we all know, if you play/sit on the bench for a top team, you've got a great of playing for England

Stadt Posted 6 November 2017 Posted 6 November 2017 Alli’s poor for England anyway, Lallana’s our most important player and we’re so much better when he plays.

I do, well I didn't, I didn't watch it, wasn't interested, but I knew he was available for the second game in the end and therefore assumed he played. At the time of selection they didn't know if he'd be available or not - It hadn't been decided at the time, he could have been banned for both games, but his selection was on the basis of a 'chat' and I think the word 'integrating' him was used regardless of ban or no ban.
Stevosevic Posted 6 November 2017 Posted 6 November 2017 Vardy is likely to start on Friday as Kane has pulled out. He's the back up striker.
RowlattsFox Posted 6 November 2017 Posted 6 November 2017 Southgate should be fuming, as always wants to use friendlies to prepare for competition and players pull out. No doubt will be fit for the next league game.

HybridFox Posted 6 November 2017 Posted 6 November 2017 Knowing Southgate, Vards stil probably won't play. It'll be Rashford and Tammy Abraham
