Certainly in the bracket 70 million plus. An awful lot of money, but considering VVD went to Liverpool for 75, Mcguire will be just as good and has potential to be one of best cbs in the league. We can not afford to lose him this summer. Need to build team with a solid spine and he is key to that.

he is young, englishman and plays for country in world cup and at least is not rubbish

so doesnt matter what is hes actual value

club should not sell him less then 70

It depends on the club buying, he isnt going anywhere other than top 4 English clubs. He wont want to go and the club wont let him.

So, if everton offer $80 million, it wont matter, but if Man U, Liverpool, Man city, Spurs or Arse offer $50 million + then... we need to be worried.

He'll be linked for something derisory like all our players seem to be.

Yep. If he was at Southampton he'd be sold for about £80m, as he's with us he'll probably go for £40m

The fact he's only year 1 of a 5 year contract makes a massive difference, as their is no short term threat of him running done his contact and leave for nothing unlike Mahrez who has only 18 months left.

He's only worth what someone is willing to pay and what we are willing to sell for.

Whatever. They can't afford him.

I'd image that what Barcelona thought about Neymar, lucky for us we don't have buy clauses in or contacts anymore since the Kante transfer.

just look at what Liverpool paid for Van Dyke and he is not even at the world cup. Plus I think Harry has alot more to come.

A lot depends on how much the buying club wants and needs him, Southampton were able to fleece Liverpool for Van Dijk because they knew they were desperate for a centre back. On ability I don't think Van Dijk does anything Maguire can't.

I'd be looking at £50m as bare minimum.

Depends on who the DoF is.   For example, there would be a vast difference in the valuation if say Levy was involved compared with the price the Rudmeister would realize.

I think the VVD rate is a minor case of apples and oranges, as VVD had been a known quantity for a good few years prior to his move, whereas Maguire (who I feel on last season's showing was probably the better player) has just had one outstanding breakthrough season. How he goes next year will be a big factor.

The other factor is that, as Poznan pointed out, everyone knew Liverpool were rolling in that Coutinho money - that probably put as much as £25m on the value.

Personally, I reckon in the current market, about £45-50m would be a 'fair' price, but I don't see why we'd have any incentive to sell at a 'fair' price unless Maguire told us he wanted to leave. I wouldn't sell at a penny below £60m considering how potentially important he is to us over the next 2-3 years.

Maguire is worth more than Liverpool's Van Dijk. At least Harry is in the World Cup and making a fabulous impression.

a bit unfair to connect a nations inability to qualify to a centre halves value

also, lpool had to pay extra 20 m because of the illegal; approach last august
