We are fantastic and if Liverpool werent so perfect this season it might be more close. It's Liverpool's to lose really. Lots of time left but if they cant win it this year then its an absolute bottle job of epic proportions. Yes but Leicester seems the passable crate, for a few bottlers... Popular Post urban.spaceman Posted 9 December 2019 Popular Post Share Posted 9 December 2019 Rodgers’ idea for blind fans reassured Leicester hierarchy he wouldn’t leave Rodgers’ decision to sign a new five-and-a-half-year contract as Leicester manager may have disappointed potential suitors, but it was no surprise to players and staff at the club. The 46-year-old former Celtic boss has overseen an extraordinary resurgence during a nine-month reign at the King Power Stadium and, despite being heavily linked with the vacant head coach position at Arsenal, internally there was minimal concern about where his future would lie. Speculation intensified after Rodgers confirmed there was a release clause in his previous deal, but sources believe he would have rejected a move even if the clause had been triggered. Leicester’s executives were impressed with the manner in which the Northern Irishman handled the Arsenal links and how deeply he has invested in their project since joining in February. Their only slight worry was whether external noise would distract and unsettle the ex-Liverpool manager, and possibly affect his side’s displays, but any such fears proved unfounded. Leicester’s victory against Villa was their eighth consecutive win in the Premier League and they are second in the table, six points clear of third-placed Manchester City. Rodgers’ on and off-field involvement and demeanour left colleagues feeling secure and there was one particular example that illustrated to those around him the passion he holds for the job. Before home games, Rodgers authors his programme notes alongside a member of Leicester’s communications team and he recently suggested that, as well as writing the column, they should record him voicing the words aloud and make them available for people with visual impairment. It was not only an idea that Leicester welcomed — and are exploring the viability of implementing — but also one indicative of somebody who is thinking of sticking around for a while longer.

We have better squad depth than most think. Im sure opposing teams know this even if opposing fans dont.

Rodgers really gets it, doesn't he. What a bloke. PS Not hugely important outside our media bubble but he handles the press very well, answers questions with respect, treats us hacks cleverly, gives some good lines. All that helps his profile and getting his messages across. His man management, not just the players, is very very good. 11

Yeah fair play that's fantastic, a man who will have a million things to deal with, even to have the time to consider that sort of thing is top draw. The fact that Matt Piper has on twitter said that Brendan makes him feel like lacing his boots up, despite not having a working knee anymore, says lots about the man management of Rodgers. Babylon Posted 9 December 2019 Share Posted 9 December 2019 Seen a lot of "Leicester have been lucky" posts and tweets. Either about our xg or the fact we've played 8 bottom half teams on our 8 game run. It's almost like this run doesn't stretch back to March last year...

Some have said it sounds like we are singing "champions of England - you'll never sing that" - which breaks the unwritten rule that you can't sing that to a team that have been Champions of England (even if it was decades ago). However, these people are generally corrected at to the correct words of the song.

Would have been great for three reasons: 1. Would have been accurate for muck like Huddersfield or whoever the hipsters like to remind you won the league. 2. Would have really pissed off the FoOtbAlL dIdNt StArT iN 1992 melts. 3. Would have been hilarious to sing to Liverpool at the time. 5

I mean, even if we were singing "you'll never sing that" to VIlla, technically we're telling them that they will never win the league in the future, regardless of whether they won it a couple of times in the 1890's Edited 9 December 2019 by stripeyfox

dmayne7 Posted 9 December 2019 Share Posted 9 December 2019 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50708185 Might have already been posted but a nice piece from Darren Fletcher. Spoke really well on MOTD and actually offered some proper insight when talking about Evans, that I've never seen another pundit do. Not surprising considering he was such an intelligent football. Went from being mocked at Man United to being one of their best players. Had it not been for his terrible time with illness, he'd definitely have been a United great and might even still be playing there.
