Yes I agree I long for the days of holloway having a good old laugh as we went down to league 1. I mean pearson was a barrel of laughs in interviews.

He literally says nowhere in his post anything close to wanting him to "do a Holloway"?  Weird response.  X

The point I was trying to make was that you need to be careful what you wish for. You can get a media darling like holloway who comes out with great sound bites but is an average manager or someone like puel/pearson who imo don't care how they come across in media. It's quite simple don't listen to his interviews.

Claudio's English was just as bad, probably worse, than Puel's. His interviews were an unintelligible mess, charming and funny as they were. I guess everything's good so long as you are winning. Start losing and people will start to nitpick on the smaller things like interview technique.

Stringer must hate interviewing him

Does Puel really like talking to him, responding to the style Stringer asks questions etc?

I know Pearson wasn't particularly a fan of his..

I never understand why people get so worked up by a manager's 'ability' infront of a microphone.

People on here wanted Nigel Pearson sacked because he didn't like talking to Simon ****ing Brotherton.

Utterly bizarre.

Thoughts? I suggest you stop watching them. All manager interviews are a waste of time, do you really expect to learn a few secrets from them?

p.s. how good is your French?

Tbf, Nige's were rarely dull!!

I can see where the OP is coming from but I think Claude is being canny. Everyone knows that if you give the media an inch, they'll take a mile. By repeating the same old dullness he is keeping them at arm's length which I think is a good thing even if it is a bit disappointing for fans.

I love hearing quality and intensity, every week.

Being a leader is about inspiring the people around you, making people believe. He's press conferences are a chance to connect with the fans, inspire the club supporters, an opportunity to make them believe in him.

I love the excuse, how's your french, he choose to work in a foreign county, in a job where communication is key

How's your English? lol

Communication in the press to some football fan is NOT key to his job.

Exactly this.

True, but he certainly didn't tell us much did he?

WHy do fans care so much about what managers say to the media? Who gives a fuch! All of it is irrelevant and pretty much all managers say the same thing to the media over and over ‘it was the refs fault, we played well today, blah blah blah!’.

Quote me where I said communication to some football fan is key to his job.

I was making a point that communication is a key part of being a leader.

By the way I'm not paid over a million pound a year to comment on a forum, so I can forgive myself a few typos!

However he is paid a large amount of money to lead a football team.
