TheUltimateWinner Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 I know we've not really had any memorable games at home this season bar the Man City one, but can we as fans start on the front foot? Get behind them from the start. We could have a real exciting game!

He's here until the end of the season then going back. Mendy has worked hard to establish his place in the side, it would be cruel to leave him out.
NewquayFox Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Would love to see Choudhury go up against Pogba, our lad hasn’t got the fame & fortune (yet) of the Frenchman but I’m sure he would stop him prancing around, play a 3 with Tielemans in for Mendy and Barnes in for Gray....
womp Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 dont care about the score. would like roughly the same possession percentage and shots on goal.
Scotch Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 I actually think this is the perfect debut for Tielemans. Utd are a very attacking team, they go forward quickly and in numbers, having someone who can feed Vardy quickly could cause them issues.

Otherwise fully agreed. Maddison and Gray both a bit wasteful against Liverpool, and Barnes deserves a chance to showcase his ability. If we can get through the first 15-20 minutes unscathed I'm pretty optimistic we can get something from this game.
Ted Maul Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Looking forward to this one- hopefully a bit more positivity from most following Wednesday's performance and the Tielemans signing. Shite that it's on a Sunday, but should be a decent atmosphere.
Haywood_6 Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Strangely more confident of a result against United than I would be against someone like Cardiff. King Power has been a dejected place lately. Puel needs to turn our home form around if he's going to keep his job.
fazzyfox Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Team selection will be interesting, the first question is had we not signed Tielemans would we have changed the side from the Liverpool game - possibly, horses for courses and all that. Is Morgan behind Evans now or does it depend on the type of game expected? Then secondly factor in Tielemans. With Barnes returning and Choudhury's season only really starting n December it feels like three new players with only really Iborra gone from the matchday squad so there's a lot of options. Despite his heroic contribution I think Choudhury may stay on the bench although I'd have him ahead of Mendy, possibly Tielemans in for Albrighton or more likely on the bench. Ghezzal is likely to miss out of even being on the bench again plus either Fuchs or Simpson and one of Shinji / Nacho. I predict:- Kasper Ricardo Evans Maguire Chilwell Albrighton/Tielemans Ndidi Mendy Gray Vardy Maddison Ward, Morgan, Simpson/Fuchs, Choudhury, Tielemans/Albrighton, Barnes, Nacho/Shinji
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Can we just start the game awake for a change. Id go for an unchanged team as we didn’t lose to Liverpool, but it’ll soon be Hamza time along with Tielemans.
TheStig Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 I´m often (naively) very optimistic for home games and the opposite for away games - and we mostly flatter to deceive. Now give us an agressive attacking home performance and put these to the sword.
leicesterseddon Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Personally I can't see Tielemans starting, but maybe he might be on the bench... I reckon we could see Hamza, maybe alongside Ndidi and Mendy (although I would prefer him to drop Mendy tbh...) I can see him swapping Barnes in for Maddison, which I woudn't be against because Man Utd are physically quite a strong team. The big question is at the back - does he drop Wes again, and at home this time?

Bablemikey Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Same back four for me then Choudhury, Ndidi, Mendy midfield, with Albrighton, Vardy, Barnes upfront. This is to be solid, defensive, and break up play to frustrate Man U and put them off their stride. Look to be conservative and play only on the break initially, but then bring on more offensive players, maybe Gray, Maddison and even the new lad Tielemans late in second half to push for the winner Simples.

Or..... start on the offensive front foot, push for an early lead, then push for a second, then revert to hitting them on the counter, and sit a little, get fresh combative legs out there to harass
Wortho Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 I certainly wouldn't want Wes or Simpson near the team, unless we were desperate. Possibly drop Gray for Hamza.

AjcW Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 I think the only scenario that sees any new signing start after two training sessions is injuries or being beaten 5-0 the game before. We have neither of those so I think we will be unchanged for the Liverpool XI with Marc doing that tucking in job he did so well. I actually think we should sit back too and give them possession. Their threat under Olly has been on the counter attack.... if we force them to play possession football again, like Burnley did, they will struggle.
Bert Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Would be surprised she Tielemans start. I would go Kasper Ricardo Chilwell Evans (It’ll be Morgan) Maguire Mendy N’Didi Choudhury Maddison Albrighton Vardy. Give Tielemans 25 minutes or so
filbertway Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Schmeichel Ricardo Maguire Evans Chillwell Choudhury Ndidi Gray Maddison Barnes Vardy Let's go nuts!

harpendenfox Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Loved the Liverpool game. Anfield is a wonderful ground to visit even if the home fans are palpably anxious. Very amusing. And now I'm proper excited for Sunday. Would love a ding-dong 3-3 draw or such like
lanefox Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Same defence surely, morgan needs to be dropped and for good
Guest TaggertvsWise Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 Kasper Chilwell Evans Maguire Perreira Hamza N’didi Gray Maddison Albrighton Vardy To come on: Barnes Tielemans Morgan
