But if we play like this, our streak will come. Finally I feel like I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Tielemans was the key - creating extra from the middle and linking up play - something we have missed dearly this season with Ndidi and Mendy.

To start with Gray at center forward is insane, to have Iheancho as our only real back up to Vardy is crazy. I don't really know where to even start on our problems, but they all lie firmly at the feet of Puel. Vardy should have been on the bench his attitude to the manager and lack of respect is an issue

UniFox21 Posted 10 February 2019 Posted 10 February 2019 "It's easy to say in hindsight but I don't think Jamie Vardy should have taken the penalty. James Maddison had the ball in his hands. Once you've got used to the ball, the goalkeeper and you're in the zone, sure. But coming off the bench and taking a penalty is very difficult. It feel as though it's a little bit of arrogance as well, coming off the bench and taking a penalty without letting anybody already on the pitch have first refusal." Dion Dublin on the penalty. The last sentence is a load of rubbish for me, if Maddison wanted that penalty he'd have had it, Vardy is also our penalty taker. If Madders takes it and misses, people such as him, are shouting for Vardy to take it.

Strange Gray selection, but players really playing for Puel. No composure from Barnes but that’ll come. Ndidi terrific and whilst we won’t get Tielemans, scouting team know exactly what they have to do now. Very hopeful about the future. Whats the really effective system?> there is some right crap spouted on here
RowlattsFox Posted 10 February 2019 Posted 10 February 2019 No evidence of players not wanting to play for the manager despite everything that is said in the media. Even Vardy didn’t look like he was sulking at being subbed. If the manager thinks been called a knobhead by a player he as every right to drop him I think. Who knows whether Vardy would have scored in first half, chances fell to Barnes not Gray.
AjcW Posted 10 February 2019 Posted 10 February 2019 Another two week break now. I’d imagine Puel will be worried about that. Equally... a chance for him to bed in Tielemans some more as he was excellent today with minimal integration

He can’t actually put the ball in the net himself. It’s the same situation as at Newport. Puel-outers are so blinkered and will see fault in every decision the bloke makes. Its not blinkered and its a tactical fault to leave 3 strikers on the bench in favour of a player that hasn’t scored many goals in his career and is not a natural striker. Its not the first time Gray has been tried up front either, its happened a few times and failed each and every one. So the excuse of trying something new won’t wash either if someone comes back with that. Other than the Gray and Ghezzal choices the manager got it pretty much spot on today but again we are left feeling and thinking if only?

More a case of Jardim being after Silva Jardim returned as Monaco coach last week and quickly added another former Sporting man, Gelson Martins, to the ranks. He has now been joined by Silva, making it three Seleção players in the squad, with Rony Lopes recently returning to action for the Monegasques after four months out injured this season.

Agreed, Mendy and Ndidi together had been too defensive - Tielemans looks like he might be the balance we need to help one/both of them out to drive play forward.

Or is he actively training them to miss.
ForeverandEver Posted 10 February 2019 Posted 10 February 2019 Let’s do the same in a couple of weeks, but replace Gray with Vardy. We’re a developing team. That spurs team been together for some time & we gave them too much respect at times. Same game next season we would’ve stuffed them 0-4. Look at Wolves... transition takes time.

fazzyfox Posted 10 February 2019 Posted 10 February 2019 Ricardo sloppy for their second, not identical to last weeks mistake but another thoughtless moment, a shame as he is contributing well otherwise, if in doubt hit it up the line.
Bournemouthfox10 Posted 10 February 2019 Posted 10 February 2019 Superb away performance yet again! - if we take our chances, we go ahead and win not only this game but games before - we are losing on mistakes made (ball given away in vital areas) i take heart earth and get butterfly’s for away games. Puel has to get the right blend between home performances and away performances, if we get that right next season as well as this current Squad maturing then European football is the aim next season. continue playing well and hitting 40 points must be the aim this season, also signing Tielemans in the summer is a must! heads up for all, bring the support at home and believe in what Puel is clearly attempting to achieve.

Did Chilwell even look up when he played that last cross in? It's just mistake after mistake after mistake and then miss after miss after miss. Its awful. Yeh Benny is definitely having a dip in form at the moment. That was a poor ball and his final ball is certainly the area he needs to improve. It’s definitely one of the things that Fuchs is still better at despite his advancing years. He’s also better at long throws!
foxes21 Posted 10 February 2019 Posted 10 February 2019 Just wondering, were we playing 4-3-3? With Tielemans RCM and Maddison LCM? Maddison seemed to play deeper even for his usual standards. Also noticed when we had to move into a defensive shape Tielemans and Maddison was alongside Ndidi in a line. I always questioned if Maddison could play in a midfield 3, but he seemed to do ok today.
