Some may think our form is off and we're a bit inconsistent of late and compared to the early part of the season it's true. Have a look at the form of the other teams below us though!  Compared to everyone else (except liverpool) it's not that bad.

No, Geoff's mate Ian Abrahams on TalkSport.

He's not my mate and never will be.

You'd be hard pressed to find many in the media who think differently.

Brilliant video of Jose and his assistant straight after the raheem sterling pen decision. Jose goes from calm and clapping to fuming in 2 seconds!!!!

Some on here both seriously under estimating us and over estimating the teams below us.

Everything below us has been inconsistent all season, nothing I’ve seen from any of them suggest they can win a string of 6+ games on the spin.

People talking about us shithousing wins against West Ham, Newcastle and Everton while forgetting Spurs have been lucky to get a point against Norwich, Wolves drew with Newcastle at home and Man Utd also lost at home to Burnley.

If we can pick up 4 wins and a draw in our last 13 games - relegation form basically - 5th place Spurs would need to win 9/13. Man Utd, Wolves and Sheff U would need 10 wins - more than they have managed in 25 games this season so far.

I'll have as much as you let me at 10/1 we won't make top four.

So that’s the same chance that wolves have of finishing top four according to the market ......

clearly little point in me giving you money that you will simply lay on betfair and guarantee you make a margin .....

I was just interested in what you would say which means you think it’s about 8/1 ......

Let's also remember that for us to drop out of the Top 4, we need at least two teams to string a winning run together. With us collapsing winning only 2/3 games.

Let's get through February and see if it is as bad as I think it could be. As I say, March has a very favourable set of fixtures. By the end of March it will either be job done, or we will have a fight on our hands.

If we win 6 of our remaining games spurs have to win 10 and draw 1 of 13, if we win 7 that becomes 11 wins and 1 draw......United have an incredibly tough run coming up, Chelsea a Everton a Spurs a, Man C h...no chance

Of course there are outliers but I think you’re missing the general point. 8/10 times the team with the most shots does win.

Of course I understand if a team has more shots they are more likely to win, but all these stats they come out with now I just don't get. People will say "oh Manchester City should have been 2 up before Spurs scored" ... but they weren't. It's not played on should. There's only one stat that matters and that's the scoreline. If we beat Manchester City in the coming year but they had 90% possession people will say "Manchester City should have won". Should they? Just because they kept the ball more.

It's very rare I defend Spurs, I don't like them, but you can make a stat about anything. On Rooney's Derby debut they provided "good crosses" stat, what's that about!?

We should have beat Chelsea on Saturday but we didn't because we missed sitters and Chelsea scored two goals from nothing.

It is good to see those stats because over a season, you are winning more games than not. Agreed, that on a game by game basis, dominance does not mean points/wins. It's about taking the chances you get. Every team in every game gets at least one chance, with a bit of luck they can win any game 1-0. See Burnley as a good example, they normally grind results out even though they are terrible to watch.

I think statistics can be a useful tool and some people enjoy looking into them and some don't.  No idea why people seem to argue about them though, no one is saying we should base the league on xG I think they are just saying "If that game was played 10 times Man City would have won 8 of them based on the shots, etc".  Of course goals matter and of course no one cares if you have all the shots and don't score but letting your opponents have 25 shots to your three and relying on them missing a penalty and missing all of their shots is just not a sustainable model.  Spurs were lucky that Man City did not score, but they also took their chances very well and should be applauded for such.  People arguing over stats is weird, look into them if you want and ignore them if you want too.  X

Current 4-8th is Chelsea, Spurs, Sheff Utd, Man Utd & Wolves.

At some point over the next 6-8 weeks they all face each other which could have a bearing on how quickly CL is confirmed?

17th Feb - Chelsea vs Man Utd
22nd Feb - Chelsea vs Spurs
1st March - Spurs vs Wolves

15th March - Spurs vs Man Utd
21st March - Man Utd vs Sheff Utd

4th April - Sheff Utd vs Spurs
18th April - Sheff Utd vs Wolves

Also worth noting Man City still have to play Man Utd away & Chelsea away as well.

Champions League is in the bag and has been since before Xmas. At this advanced point in the season we have more than established that every team outside Liverpool is pretty mediocre and painfully inconsistent. No one is capable of putting together a sustained run of the sort that is needed to boot us out of top 4, let alone 2 teams.

Win a few, draw a few, lose a few will be the model for us and everyone else as the season winds down.

Just relax and start working out who we might draw in the group stages.

If you had to save the moose or stringer from a burning building.

Which pub would you be sat in having a pint?

I'd be in a pub having a pint with Ian Stringer after saving him.

yeah that's what i said, despite not playing very well we are stumbling over the line in some games (everton, west ham) and winning our very easy games (west ham again, newcastle) which is enough to get us where we need to be.

i was talking about performances, not results. the results are just about enough, although still not ideal. the performances are worse than the results since the start of december suggest, imo.

I take you point about the Everton game, but we played pretty well at home and away against West Ham!

As for Newcastle away being a easy game, they are 7th in the home league table and have only lost 3 games at home and have a better home record then Chelsea and Wolves!

Would you prefer good performance and poor results, in my book if you can play poorly and still get results, that's a sign of a good side.....

Q. If Stringer and Trump fell out of an aeroplane, which one would hit the ground first?

A. It doesn't matter
