Unabomber Posted 4 August 2019 Posted 4 August 2019 Brendan 100% prefers Tarkowski over Dunk. You can prob rule Dunk out
Heymister2015 Posted 4 August 2019 Posted 4 August 2019 spend £50m on Ake! Not tawkowski! Potential for a lot of profit with Ake

Potential for a lot of profit with Ake 100% this, Ake may cost a little more than Dunk or Tarkowski but he’s younger and that gives us potential to sell him on for profit in a couple of seasons or even better, he stays with us for 6/7 years and we get our money’s worth. It also follows the clubs recent plan of buying younger players.
yorkie1999 Posted 4 August 2019 Posted 4 August 2019 Profit profit profit, if we don’t do well next season, half our team will be outta here, profit means jack shit then.

Nickbluefox Posted 4 August 2019 Posted 4 August 2019 Must admit would prefer Ake. I reckon he's probably worth 40mil. Tarkowski good, but wouldn't spend more than 30mil.

Give it a rest Our team looks in good shape and if you haven't heard we're in for a replacement. While HM will be missed, he wasn't irreplaceable and the sale may afford the club to build in other positions which we were lacking and may end up a stronger team by close of the window.

I'm assuming I need to watch the games closer these days.

Would rather keep HM but it wouldn't be the worst bit of business in the world. We need to get away from "He's not worth 40m" because Maguire isn't worth 80m in all honesty. It's just market forces. We pull the pants down of some clubs when selling and others will do the same to us. Merge this thread please. This comment sums up the situation perfectly.
Lesta2014 Posted 4 August 2019 Posted 4 August 2019 He hasn’t been in talks with us today as he’s been at Chester races watching his horse which he owns with few other Burnley players including Chris Wood. It won too!

fox_favourite Posted 4 August 2019 Posted 4 August 2019 I would personally prefer Tarkowski. But I don't know why. Thought I'd share that with everyone
Carl the Llama Posted 4 August 2019 Posted 4 August 2019 €40m would be a fair price for Tarkowski tbh. Good idea by Burnley to get it in Euros too, that's £36.5m now but in a few months it'll be about 60.

UniFox21 Posted 4 August 2019 Posted 4 August 2019 £35mill would be a good bit of business for me. But, isn't this a big slap in the face for Soyuncu and Benkovic?

Over a season they'll still be getting games whether they're good enough or not. Up to them to ensure they don't get dropped.
