Premier League Fixtures 19/20

Definitely due a home game on opening day, surely. Really hope it's not a really good away game as that's not ideal.

Here's the statutory list of our opening games in our PL history:

94-95- Newcastle (H) L 1-3

96-97- Sunderland (A) D 0-0

97-98- Aston Villa (H) W 1-0

89-99- Man Utd (A) D 2-2

99-00- Arsenal (A) L 1-2

00-01- Aston Villa (H) D 0-0

01-02- Bolton (H) L 0-5

03-04- Southampton (H) D 2-2

14-15- Everton (H) D 2-2

15-16- Sunderland (H) W 4-2

16-17- Hull (A) L 1-2 Sky

17-18- Arsenal (A) L 3-4 Sky

18-19- Man Utd (A) L 1-2 Sky

Thanks for this list. I remember the mauling by Bolton but look where they are now.

Worth noting there is the break now in February where five fixtures take place one weekend and five fixtures the next.

Also Amazon to televise games too

Forgot about this do we know what weekends they are in February yet

As always I'd like a home game against a winnable side / not a promoted side / not the rest of the top 6 side.

Someone like Brighton.

Could do without a Friday night away at one of the rest of the of the big 6 to start off for a change. Saturday at 3pm would be nice.

Imo the best time to play any of the rest of the top 6 is early in the season. I wouldn’t mind 1 of them at home first up. Obviously it would mean the fixture moving for tv.

You can guarantee it'll be one of the rest of the top 6 club away and we'll begin the season on a Friday night and lose for the third year in a row lol

Edit: With Jamie Carragher co-commentator

Past 3 seasons the first two fixtures have been against rest of the top six side and a promoted side, will probably be the same. The last home opening game was against Sunderland and we all know how that ended:scarf:

lol need to change this to the rest of the top six ;)

2 wins out of 12 lol I always had us down as having a decent first day record as well.

We were a newly promoted team for four of those games and at least 7 were against sides who'd finished in the top five the previous season.

The worst ones were obviously Bolton and Hull but that Southampton match was a serious let-down in a different way.

Don’t think they’ve announced exact dates yet.

Also all ten fixtures will be televised over the two weekends.

Also means FA Cup 5th round will move to midweek with no replays.

I'd go for Arsenal at home. I think they are in a transitional period and it would be a good time to get them. They were very poor away from home last season and I don't see this changing unless they spend huge money on world class signings.

Brighton might be much tougher than we think with a new manager bounce. Bournemouth are too unpredictable. Newcastle might be a good first game draw if Rafa leaves.

I don't want a promoted side, but if we draw one, I'd prefer Villa.

About time we could just buy a pass and watch any game online legally like in other countries.

The argument that attendances would fall doesn't stand up any more.

Anyone who wants to watch the game will find a way so why not charge us and give it to us in HD /4k. We are getting there just really slowly by adding a few games a season.

If you are talking about the Amazon package it’s not weekends.

Its all midweek games in early December and all the Boxing Day fixtures.

Then the other two rounds of midweek fixtures are all televised on BT
