Maddison

I might have seen a different match yesterday honestly

I want him out of the team until he remembers how to lay a throughball in for a striker.

Wanna know why most people take Grealish over him? For villa's first goal when grealish had Soyuncu in front of him but stalled and waited for his left back creating the better chance?

Maddison would have shot on his first chance

Out of the team? Are you taking the piss? He's one of the first on the team sheet and so he should be. We are certainly more likely to win games with madders on the pitch than off it

Now watch him stupidly get banned or fined for speaking out.

When I say stupidly, I mean the decision to ban him, not him for saying something.

At the end of the day he feels as hard done by as we do and there's nothing wrong with that. Especially when there's a final at stake.

He'll most likely get a fine but its ridiculous. When decisions are that blatant and in such a big game, why can't you show your disappointment?

VAR was meant to remove ridiculous decisions, yet we seem to have just as many as before

And it’s the same issue as before. The referees are still slightly favouring the bigger teams and home teams. But because 99% of their remotely contentious decisions are in some way subjective even ones like last night - which all bar even the most myopic Aston Villa fan would say was a clear penalty - continue to favour those sides. It doesn’t help that it came in such a big game and hot on the heels of an equally blatant handball not being overturned against Burnley. When you compare those 2 to what Soyuncu got punished for against Liverpool it just illustrates my point further.

So all it’s done is just make people even more pissed off with the officiating than in the first place. Well done PGMOL, you’ve excelled yourselves.

'Not making excuses'...before proceeding to make an excuse.

The exact same as someone who says, "Not to be racist....but" lol

He said something not long ago about a reffing decision and nothing happened, so hopefully this will go unpunished too. Why shouldn’t he speak out about it though? Why are refs so precious about being criticised? Do your job properly and all’s well. Some of the replies to this though, Villa fans posting that stupid salt gif, it’s not salt you ****nuggets it’s a blatant fact 🤦🏻‍♀️

Maddison has the joint top number of through balls in the league (level with KdB). Grealish not even in top 20.

tbh hes saying what most people are thinking, as tho's handballs have been given this season

as stated already I wouldnt be surprised if hes banned or fined for speaking out,

then again none of the officials are accountable for decisions and very rarely get punished for their doggy performances

What about free speech

I wish someone would take on the disciplinary body in the courts  for fining and/or banning players and managers for expressing honestly held and not unreasonable or abusive views

Is he making an excuse? He’s not saying that’s the reason why we lost the game

he’s calling out the match officials

It was abit weird on the TV footage after our shout the clip was shown being rolled back through how they sometimes do to show it being reviewed but it wasn't the Marvelous lads block, it was another one a moment before which certainly wasn't a pen so it was all quickly dismissed by the commentators.

It made it look like the refs didn't review the correct moment then quickly buried it so we could play on quickly. Incompetence more than anything else so it's fair questions are raised, it's just dicey if players have to do it because there might be an obscure FA rule.

He's not creating anything, taking shots from afar when all you have to do is put in a simple pass for your teammate is stupid. And he's been doing it alot lately

A selfish streak is part an parcel of any attacking player to be fair. He does have the best stats for through balls in the league so nothing to see there. I must admit i'm not a fan of the falling over trick he seems to love. Mind you, if it ends up in the back of the net from it... You know how it is...

Its a selfish streak that's costing us though , yesterday and the first leg proved, less than 5 assist this season whiles taking every set piece under the sun for a number 10

Is underwhelming idk

That selfishness produced a couple of sh*t hot saves from their keeper too. I doubt we'd be having this conversation had their keeper not had a blinder and maddisons efforts had gone in. He's creating and scoring with some of the best stats in the league. There is no question he makes us better, the numbers don't lie, nor does the England cap and the fact that big clubs are keeping an eye on him.

Up the foxes.

If he scored I've had pardoned him because talking about it would end up with me being crucified. I'd have still thought about it in my mind, also

What stats? He has less goal contributions than Barnes,Perez and iheanacho. I get it, he's young,he's English ,you all have a soft spot for that nonsense. I don't, and RN all he's contributing to us is increasing the shots per match count

He is joint top for through balls in the premier league, this being what you said he was no good at? It's ok, your not a fan, that's cool. I think he's ace  regardless of his age and nationality...
