Ben Chilwell

He had no support whatsoever from Barnes but he got skinned far too many times by Mahrez today. I agree he needs to impose himself a bit more on players like Mahrez.

He had to give Mahrez too much space, because KDB was pushing upfront.  This was a tactical thing that he could not deal with.  However he still was poor

I couldn’t call chilwell today as he was doubled up on. However you could see today that his defending is of average quality. He’s not as good at defending than Fuchs is however he’s better going forward now as he is more mobile than Fuchs. And the system we play we need that attacking threat.

Fuchs would have struggled big tIme today - happened first fifteen at Chelsea to him and he was schooled for that first quarter until we changed tactics a bit

TBF Mahrez can make any full back in the world look clueless.

Chilwell was isolated far too often against Mahrez without any back up and just had to try and hold him off. That first goal when Mahrez had a run at him and there was no player in a ten yard radius was asking for trouble. Ndidi was preoccupied and it should have been Barnes or Tielemans running into that space.

Give the guy a break. He is one of the best full backs in the league and has great energy to go forward and get back all game.

He had no support from his winger defensively and whether that was intentional to limit the threat of de bruyne or not, Leicester fans out of any fans should understand how dangerous Mahrez is in those situations, one on one.

He was exposed badly today, but exposed by Mahrez on top form and a world class KDB. When Mahrez played for us he was often doubled up on, we couldn’t/didn’t do that as we had others to watch, what was Chilly supposed to do? He was always on a hiding to nothing the way we set up, just one of those games. Move on.

Harsh to call him out on that performance really, often found himself alone against KDB and Mahrez and we all know just how devastating Mahrez can be 1 on 1, Barnes gave no support as he was marking thin air most of the game, N’didi was just running around aimlessly looking for someone to tackle and often found no one as Man City players just stayed away from him,

we was just outplayed today by a quality team there is no shame in that

To be honest yes Chilly got ripped a new one. But some of the senior players should have told chilly to go in hard on Mahrez early, we know from his days here that once a player does that to him, he shys away. My bigger concern with Chilwell is actually his crossing ability, or the serious lack of it!

We kept our full backs too narrow today, presumably in an attempt to better deal with De Bruyne and Bernardo (which didn't go amazingly). Thought Ricardo did okay on the right with Sterling (it was never a penalty) although Mendy got forward well to support. Chilwell didn't have his greatest game but he was essentially left in 2 on 1's with Mahrez and De Bruyne which is asking for a spanking. Having Albrighton ahead of him would have massively helped today.

He has no support.

But why oh why did we keep allowing Mahrez to come inside. We saw it week after week ourselves.

His weak right foot means a left footed player is always going to go inside on him, Salah will do the same. To be honest a professional footballer should never be completely one footed , Fuchs certainly isn't. Also with Mahrez , Fuchs would have clattered him straight away , he doesn't like the physical stuff.

From these lot, no chance, they want his blood

We don't want his blood at all but he is 23 now not a kid , just work really hard on his weak areas and he will be fine.
