Seriously - to negate what? Even if Arsenal at home was a game for an alternative set up (with this Arsenal team, in the state they're in, it isn't) what has the 2 DM approach actually achieved this season? Based on the current table, its best contribution has been a draw against a Chelsea team we could have beaten.

Not saying we should, i don't think we should personally. It's just a feeling.

I assume this belief that bringing Praet in would be a defensive move is related to his time later at Sampdoria, and his time with us?

Even though he spent much time as an AM and clearly has good vision and passing range.

if things are as toxic at the Club as their fans seem to think ( even allowing for their tendency to exaggerate and over emote) it will be a superhuman effort to overturn that negativity at a confident in form side like City, given reports of players ignoring Emery and openly mocking him . Our own experience has shown that these situations rarely end well  when the players are against you and apparently want you fired.

Here's Arsenal trying to play out from the back in a recent game...

And which team has the most tackles in the league so far, including the most in the opposition's final third? Hmmm...

Obviously they are going to turn up, otherwise they forfeit the game.

Someone I know who supports Arsenal reckon this game will be make or break for Emery, if they lose he could be gone especially with the international break coming after this game

he also said based on recent games he is actually worried we are going to smash them because they concede to many shots at goal apparently Watford had 30 plus shots at goal against Arsenal, he said he’s surprised nobody has given Arsenal a proper hiding this season due to the negative tactics

I find the idea that starting Praet would be some kind of negative capitulation rather absurd, given that he's been one of our best players every time he's started a match.

If we turn up as we have been doing, then we will win. Their defense is hopeless, and if you cant defend then you'll never win, no matter who you have upfront. I think we have lost that soft underbelly now Brendan is here. There will be no feeling sorry for them, we will want to humiliate them as we did Southampton (obviously not to that extent) but we will want to win and win well. I'm not concerned I don't think....

imagine..... just for a second..... that we Southampton'd them and absolutely battered them.  Arsenal TV would be an absolute delight to watch.

Watch them stuff us now.

There's no reason that we shouldn't be confident but for all their frailty at the back, they have a very dangerous forward line.  Their match against Palace should have been over by half time.

We have a solid defence and dangerous front line. This game will be won in midfield, if Tielemans, Maddison and Ndidi are on it we should win this game.

Which really isn't the point.  Praet is so good on the ball that we're just as dangerous if not more so with him on the pitch, just in a different way.  But if you want specifics, Barnes seems like a logical choice.  He really offered nothing against Palace and Praet gives you more cover where Arsenal is most talented without sacrificing the threat going forward.

We are going to WIN this game, l don't care about Arsenal's problems as they are the architects of their own downfall.

If We continue to play the free flowing one touch football we have then this could get nasty for Arsenal :scarf:

Well it really is the point. Because it's not a like-for-like swap. Are you sticking Praet on the wing? Or Maddison?

As for your final point - our centre backs will be the ones dealing with the area Arsenal are 'most talented' in
