coolhandfox Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 Makes sense, the club and Rodgers probably see Soyuncu and Evans as the main pairing for the next couple of years! With a view to develop Benkovic as a longer term successor to Evans. Then Bennett as back up and probably more able to put the starters under pressure then a semi fit Morgan.
Finnegan Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 Bit weird loaning a player and making him permanent before he's even kicked a ball. 2

Probably easier to get a loan deal agreed on deadline day than faff about negotiating transfer fees, wages, bonuses etc. Particularly if he was a last-minute option after a first choice (like Demiral, perhaps) fell through, or if we were trying to negotiate other deals at the same time. Then we've got 6 months to take our time with negotiations while still getting to keep the player in the meantime. Plus for Wolves at least it means he won't be able to play against them. 1

Yeah and probably saved us getting fleeced with a last minute winter buy. 1

Ric Flair Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 We have already agreed in principle the permanent deal for £5m, have we not? Why push that through for the sake of it unless we agree a much reduced fee? Bizarre. 2

Ashley Williams with all his years of experience is at fault for not clearing the initial long ball. Once he’s let it bounce it’s panic stations all round.
Brainy Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 Good, i've been really impressed with his performances for us so far 4
Vardinio'sCat Posted 11 February 2020 Posted 11 February 2020 I think this looks like a smart bit of business now the dust has settled. We are going to be playing a lot of footy next season...

Foxhateram Posted 12 February 2020 Posted 12 February 2020 If he plays well for us. Wolves might demand a higher fee. So makes sense to wrap something up now.

A fee has supposedly already been agreed in the summer for £5m, Percy reported it when he joined on deadline day. 1
