Wolves A Match Thread

Recommended Posts

Still can’t over losing so many headers so easily for the ‘goal’. Hamza’s done some good stuff but to not even challenge for the header at the back stick is criminal. Not much any keeper can do if all the defenders are losing 50/50s.

We’re too predictable going forward too. Wolves seem to have about four men on Vardy when he’s got his back to goal because they know that’s where are attacks are going. There needs to be more variation such as early balls over the top when Vardy’s on the shoulder the threat of which would open a bit more space for him.

Still in it though!

I'm a big fan of using technology to make these calls as accurate as possible but now that we have this new power to catch every detail it's clear some revisions need to be made to the rules being implemented.  Never would have been given before VAR and nobody would have complained.

Spot on. Technology is ruining perfectly good goals because the laws aren't fit to support it. Handball rules included.

We always get ****ed over by VAR though, and you lot usually come up smelling of roses!

Very harsh for their goal but....

Keep hearing the press and 'experts'/ pundits etc bang on about how amazing wolves are and the great football they play. Am I the only one who thinks they are a glorified Burnley? 11 men behind the ball, long balls over for the quick front men, niggly fouls to stop our play, lots of set plays to get the big men forward. They really are not as good as some make them out to be. They are at home and have played like an away team. Expect that from Burnley etc not from "wolvesalona". Garbage!

They are one of the few top half teams that launch free kicks in from their own half .....but they have plenty more quality that Burnley all over the pitch which makes them so much better when it comes to transition scenarios

Same weaknesses every week. Too slow in our build up and flimsy in the challenge. Schmeichel and Chilwell liabilities in defence. Ricardo our only decent ‘winger’. Dreadful half. Unbelievably lucky to be level. Sort it, Brendan!

Kasper is great - just not particularly good with distribution or crosses...as shown in the last 5 minutes

Absolute rubbish and has been for ages. Good close up shot stopper, useless at everything else. Every team must say swing a cross in at Dracula, scared to death of it. Fullbacks aren’t the best at defending them, so buy a big imposing keeper

Our attacking play is so predictable.

Option one:

Pass to Ricardo.

Ricardo runs up the pitch and tries to play a 1 - 2 with Perez.

Perez loses the ball

Wolves have a dangerous counter attack.

Option two:

Pass to Tielemans

Tielemans hangs on the ball too long / messes up a pass and loses it.

Wolves have a dangerous counter attack.

Option three:

Pass to Chilwell.

Chilwell to Barnes.

Barnes runs up the pitch and either A) falls over, B) Turns around and passes it back to a defender.

If A) Leicester get a semi-decent chance from a header, before a dangerous wolves counter attack. if B) See option one and option two again.

Notice how Maddison and Vardy aren't included in any of these options - that's because they don't touch the ball.

It's frustrating really. Seeing the same patterns of play again and again - which would be fine if it looked like we might get any tiny amount of success from them, but at no point has there really been anything resembling a dangerous attack. Feel like Ricardo is our most dangerous attacker at the moment, which is ridiculous really.

Incredibly lucky - if it were the other way round I’d be spewing - the ball looks to be played back - how can that be offside?

The ball was played back, but the player was returning from an offside position, and he hadn’t got back far enough when the ball was played to him.

He may have been onside by the time he received it, but that’s irrelevant.

The ball went backwards, but that was irrelevant aswell.

He was in an offside position when the ball was played to him.

Also, I know it’s a very tight call, but if the linesman had flagged for that, we’d all be praising him massively for spotting it when no-one else had, so why are people criticising VAR for spotting it?.................

“The players have had a bit of time off and suffering from not playing for a few weeks”.

This is crap. Playing into their hands. They’re very direct and have one tactic, but it’s effective.

If Ryan Bennett is not good enough for their first team, why would he be good enough for ours?

Because we are shite ?

Apologies for smacking down my own post, but it has been a shit year in all aspects of my life on this planet so far,so arguing with myself is inevitable.
