what is he as a player, never really understood him, is he a defensive mid, a play maker or box to box?

Posted

Maybe not a bad thing that he's a bit of a gobshite on the pitch. After all, I see plenty of complaints that we're too soft and our players are too friendly with their opponents.

However, he's also shit, and for that reason it's a no from me.

Average only 1.3 tackle and barely over 1 interception per game, only has 1 assist this season, and has 0 league goals in his entire career - so none of those.

He's a nothing player. He just occupies space on the pitch and a name in the team sheet.

“Leicester, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are all attentive to Matteo Guendouzi's situation.”

“Leicester, Real Madrid and Barcelona”

Bad apple. He wouldn't fit in here anyway. Plus he's a twat.

He's only 21, who wasn't a twat then...plenty of time for Brendon to remake him in his image.

Probably the most over rated young player in the Premier League. Unbelievably average.

That said, "Barcelona, Real Madrid and Leicester" as a sentence deserves a thread on its own. A long way from West Ham and Everton lol

The worst thing was the David Luiz look-alike Ghendouzi being caught taunting the Brighton players how he earned DOUBLE each week

Source?

His hair makes him look a better player than he actually is, I don’t believe for one minute Barcelona or Real Madrid would take him

Hamza has better hair by far.  We don't need Arsenal rejects.

He really is the definition of stealing a living. The Brighton players he taunted have done more work with their little finger than this fellow.

Just do a search

I did - and there you go - that says it all. Precisely my point. In each of these sensationalist articles, Guendozi's comments were, the classic disclaimer - "according to a source". Even though Maupay intimated that Guendozi had belittled them - and incidentally, I have no doubt that this did happen and did involve condescending comments about their earnings - it is nonetheless utterly without substantiation. This is the precisely the behaviour of the gutter press that we regularly berate on this forum or take with a metric ton of salt...particularly when such controversy and negative publicity is courted by a Leicester player. We tend to objectively ask questions first, as opposed to blind acceptance. This stuff sells. The press has a duty to report - but also to qualify their claims.

I'm not defending Guendozi or taking a stance, but at the same time I prefer to be cautious about stories based upon hearsay and anonymous anecdote stoked up, circulated and mindlessly parroted/regurgitated within the vacuous echo chamber, kangaroo court of social media and jaundiced yellow journalism on the gutter press. Not good for anyone concerned. If this happened, the club will know, and it should then be dealt with internally which I suspect it currently is.

He’s 21. Mendy has one assist and hasn’t scored 2015/16 and similar interception and tackle stats.

Guendouzi actually makes the occasional forward pass and through ball. Sounds like an upgrade to what we have.
