LCFCJ Posted 7 September 2020 Posted 7 September 2020 I wouldn’t mind him tbh. And I wouldn’t mind taking away Burnley’s best player

We got a great price for him but he’s a top player. Schmeichel, Perreira, Evans, Chilwell, N'didi, Maddison, Tielemans and Vardy were better imo. 2

Prem proved, English, decent and pretty young. Ticks all of the boxes. Makes sense but he is 28 in November, so not that young
Edingleyfox Posted 7 September 2020 Posted 7 September 2020 Have we got any concrete links on this apart from the fact that we were in for him last year and something on the back page of the Star? Seems to be more to the Fofana thread?

Luttfox Posted 7 September 2020 Posted 7 September 2020 Sky reporting Burnley want £50m for him, and we wont pay £27m for Fofana. I'd rather take the risk on Fofana then blow £50m on a 27yr old Tarkowski 2

Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 7 September 2020 Posted 7 September 2020 They'll never get £50 mil if he's only got 2 years left on the contract. Dreaming in the NW they are!!

Popular Post Finnegan Posted 7 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 7 September 2020 You can't be disappointed that we sold Chilwell for 45 or Riyad for 60 and then laugh at Burnley for wanting 50 for Tarkowski. Players are worth what they're worth to buying and selling clubs respectively. If they want 50, they want 50. It's essentially their way of saying "**** off, we don't want to sell him." 5

We should have got much more for Mahrez IMO.
FoxesWalk Posted 7 September 2020 Posted 7 September 2020 As has been pointed out, no way he goes for 50m given he has less than 2 years left on his deal (June 2022). 1
Finnegan Posted 7 September 2020 Posted 7 September 2020 2 minutes ago, urban.spaceman said: We should have got much more for Mahrez IMO. Yeah likewise but Man City are never bullied over fees and we knew we couldn't take the piss any longer forcing Mahrez to stay. They very patiently called our bluff and waited us out and got him for how much they wanted to pay. Probably the only club to date to really out play us when buying our assets but in their economic position that's not hard. 1 1
StriderHiryu Posted 7 September 2020 Posted 7 September 2020 3 minutes ago, urban.spaceman said: We should have got much more for Mahrez IMO. Leroy Sane went for 54.8m and you could argue he is the better player. Maguire went for a crazy amount, but there was a pretty hefty "English tax" on that deal. So 60m for Mahrez is probably a good deal for us. I know what you are implying though, to us Mahrez was irreplaceable as we are finding out. We've improved the team by investing in other players who collectively improved us (Maddison, Ricardo), but I would be surprised if we ever see a wide player for Leicester ever hit 17 goals and 11 assists in 33 appearances ever again! Those are insane numbers. 2
Steve Earle Posted 7 September 2020 Posted 7 September 2020 Let me think, who do I believe? Tabloids and Sky Sports saying Burnley want £54M, or @UpTheLeagueFox saying they want around £30M? In case it isn't obvious, it's Geoff I believe...
fox_up_north Posted 7 September 2020 Posted 7 September 2020 48 minutes ago, LCFCJ said: Maybe not backwards cause they’re both as shit as eachother. Definitely not forward tho As I said before - if he really, really wants to get into the England squad then he'll choose us. Maguire, Vardy, Chilly, Madders - all either in the squad or knocking on the door over the last few years. We're a known quantity, in that regard. If he goes to West Ham over us, it's about money. Nothing more.
