mozartfox Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 Saw somewhere that Fulham are interested?
moore_94 Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 (edited) https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-fulham-make-approach-to-sign-5m-valued-leicester-city-player/ Fulham make approach to sign £5m-valued Leicester City player Fulham have made an approach to sign Leicester City midfielder Daniel Amartey, Football Insider can exclusively reveal. The 25-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the King Power Stadium over the past few seasons having struggled with injury. A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Leicester are willing to sell the Ghanian for around £5million this summer. The Cottagers have held a long-term interest in the defensive midfielder, who can also play across the back line, and tried to sign him in the January transfer window. Amartey has two years remaining on his contract with the Foxes, having penned a new deal in December 2018. The Ghana international spent nearly two years on the sidelines with an ankle injury suffered in a 1-1 draw with West Ham United in October 2018. He made his playing return earlier this month and scored in a 1-1 friendly draw with Blackburn Rovers in the build up to the 2020/21 campaign. Amartey arrived in a near £6million deal from FC Copenhagen in January 2016 and has made 64 appearances for the Foxes, winning the Premier League in his first season at the club. He has not featured in a competitive match under Brendan Rodgers and may be deemed surplus to requirements by the Northern Irishman with Wilfried Ndidi, Youri Tielemans, Nampalys Mendy and Hamza Choudhury all vying for the holding midfield positions. Popular Post Tomek Posted 21 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 21 September 2020 As much as I like the guy, we really need to start getting players off the wage bill. 5
Popular Post martyn Posted 21 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 21 September 2020 (edited) Fulham would be a really good move for Amartey and i think for £5m that'd be good business for both clubs Could see him playing centre half and thriving there. Edited 21 September 2020 by martyn 5
Lesta2014 Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 Get back what we paid for him? Best for all involved. Hopefully nails down a position and stays fit!
Vardinio'sCat Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 It's worth remembering he has put in some good performances for us, and I think his height and strength are things we are a bit short of at the mo. I really don't see why he can't become a quality CB at this level. But he really needs lots of games, so if he went it would be understandable. 3
Leicester_Loyal Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 I'd let him go if we can get some cash for him, can't see him ever being a regular here now.
Popular Post baldeagle Posted 21 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 21 September 2020 I’d rather get rid of Marty James and keep him 14
Verumex Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 He's never going to reach the height of his career with us, but I'd like to see him continue on in the premier league and get game time. I think this would be a good move.

That's a really unfortunate name. But given Amartey went on to have a further ankle surgery around that period, I don't fully believe this article
City1884 Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 I really have nothing against the guy, but his injury record is awful, we’ve never really found any proper place for him in the team, and not trying to be harsh, but we’ve progressed as a team while there’s no way he can’t have regressed with all of his time on the sidelines. If anyone is willing to offer us £5m for him, we should take it. Could anyone honestly say we would miss him if he wasn’t here?
majaco Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 I like Amartey but I can't see him playing for us again. He deserves some luck. If he goes, he is a player who I would want to do really well unless be was playing Leicester. 1

Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 Both James and Armartey need to go. Play some footie lads. Use your talent and enjoy the beautiful game.
Scotch Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 Don't see any reason to keep him. He might be able to play 2/3 positions but every one of those position has 2/3 players in it that are better than him. 2
RowlattsFox Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 Don't see any reason why we need him so I would take any sort of offer. Nothing against him but injuries have meant we've moved on. Always nice see Matty James name and remembering he's still here.
Popular Post Dr The Singh Posted 21 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 21 September 2020 It's decisions like this will get Brendan the sack 5
TommyK Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 We're so far pass what Armartey has to offer. He's too slow for our game now. We have far far better right backs, far better defensive midfielders and he's never been used as a center back. There might be a player in there, but for me, it's time for him to move on. 1
honeybradger Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 Good player, better for him and for us that he goes somewhere he can fight for a starting spot
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 You philistines don't recognise greatness when you see it. Yous will all change your tune when he schools The Arse in the cup.
AKCJ Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 Assuming he's made a full recovery (which is a big If) then Fulham would have a bargain for 5m
Guest Fktf Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 Sell sell sell. Another prospect (along with gray) that isn't going to make the required level. Shame, he seems a good lad, and has had a few good performances, but he's never really kicked on.
MGLCFC Posted 21 September 2020 Posted 21 September 2020 He along with Slimani, Silva, Diabate and Ghazzel will all be gone by the end of deadline day, either permanently or on loan. I also think Gray will be moved on, and there will be 2 new signings as well as Fofana. One on loan and one permanent.
