Rodri, comments

Recommended Posts

All Rodders here has done is shown everyone how naive he is about football.

He would do himself a favour by reading and really studying what Rodgers said about the game...

"They are a great team," said the Northern Irishman. "The higher you press with the ability they have, the more they will exploit the space you have left.

"Everyone knows how my teams play but I felt it was important to take their keeper out of it and get to a three-quarters shape, then we could deny them space when the press did come. Thankfully we were able to do that."

Micah Richards summed up Manchester City's play in very cutting language. Perhaps Rodri should have a watch of it. 😂

He did. It was ****ing brilliant.

He honestly said Man City dominated us? Really? Have your 80% possession. Have it all day long. You did little to trouble us.

Absolute wonder strike from Riyad it really was other than that they done very little in that game. Man City on their day can tear anyone a new one but yesterday it wasn't. With BR finally admitting he was too arrogant/stubborn to change things in the past is excellent for us too. We finally... might get somewhere.

lucky despite beating their defence with precision passing, yeah when we get behind and our players are pulled down, Rodri needs a lesson in footie proper. Not sure maybe he is use to bog clubs freely able to do such cheap fouling

He needs to read this.

Mahrez being slated on Blue Moon. Minus first 10, couldn't tell you what he did.

One issue with having pundits supporting one team playing is that they become incredibly grumpy buggers in these situations. Hilarious to watch but also infuriating

If they had created a lot of chances he might have a point but all their goals (including the disallowed one) and Fernandihno’s Chance came from set plays.

they couldn’t break us down.  Tactical master stroke by Rodgers.

Goals will games not passing it around at the edge of the box.

I know the first 30 minutes seem a long time ago now, but we were seriously under the cosh and chasing shadows. Two identical free kicks, one goal which was chalked off, the other where Fernandinho should've scored. Sterling's angled shot after they carved us open, Rodri's shot narrowly over the bar... they had plenty of chances.

It was a lot more sparse after this, granted.

Rodri and Pep have a point about the first 20 minutes or so. We were frustrating them and it was frustrating to see us not really getting a hold of the game as Man City dominated the ball. When that's happening, what do Rodri and Pep expect? Do they think the opposition team are going to stand there and clap them as they move the ball around?

But after that we came out of our shells and played further up the pitch, and got more of our players into the game.

Then, in the second half, Pep made the blunder of taking Fernandinho off. That gave them less protection and Mendy, Tielemans and Praet ran rings around their midfield. It was plain to see that they missed Fernandinho in their midfield last season and they've not done a lot to address it. Yes, they have injuries of their own right now but they got outplayed in the middle of the park. De Bruyne hardly had a sniff as well. The analysis on Match of the Day showed that our goals weren't counter attacking goals, that we did want to play, and we succeeded at it.

Rodri and Pep just come across as bitter and spoiled and expect teams to roll over for the mighty Man City :nono:

Can't stand that club honestly. They've got some weird complex because they've been in Manchester United's shadow for so long and now suddenly aren't.

Not good enough so look around to see who's to blame, not actually acknowledging opposition.

Pep made comments about us being defensive. So what? This is the same clubs thats spend 250m+ on defenders alone. Teams shouldn't have to go and attack them, they should have enough to break teams down. I wouldn't expect teams to come to us and just attack from the whistle.

They can all fvck off. Hope they never win the Champions League.
