Soyuncu's injury

That’s for normal people, but don’t they implement a lot of preventive measures to get players as physically fit and injury free as possible?

Someone said the cryotherapy chamber can't be used so wonder if that's played/playing a big part.

Don’t you need a physio after you’ve been injured so no I wouldn’t say related

Exactly. Physio’s can help players manage and recover from the rigours of daily physical exercise keeping them as healthy (in a physiological respect) as possible.

I’d imagine most players at PL level are in with the physio at least a couple of times per week even if they don’t have any significant injuries, or at least see them if they feel the slightest ‘twinge’.

Sports science on the whole is a huge part of top level football and the physios are an integral part of that. In both prevention and rehabilitation of injuries.

Are you suggesting that we have sacked Rennie, and have no one covering the role in the interim, and our players don't have access to physiotherapy? I'm not sure that is realistic...

I am asking whether sacking Rennie was a good idea (or not) and/or whether that somehow had anything to do with our players getting injured.

that's fair enough, I thought you were suggesting the lads weren't getting treatment.

I think it's one of those stories that will slowly leak out over time, even if there was a non-disclosure agreement. I'm all for making our set-up more professional, but Rennie was part of a set-up that was pretty optimal during the title season, and we do seem to have whispers that it might not have been the standard of his work that was the problem

Dare I say it, his injury has been a bit of a blessing in disguise for the development of Fofana. I wonder how many minutes Fofana would of had if Soyuncu was fully fit

Definitely. But would be a welcome boost nevertheless if it means we can give Evans a rest. Plays non-stop for us and Northern Ireland

Understand the point, but Fofana would have got plenty of time on the pitch given the Europa League commitments.

The nice thing is that we've been able to get a look at how good he is so quickly into his career here.

Loads. He’d play alongside Soyuncu.

Fortuna and Calgar will be the first choice centre back pairing from Christmas onwards. Evans will take on the Morgan role and Morgan will be moved into coaching and hopefully a statue of him outside the King Power Stadium.

2 phenomenal players but think Forfana and Soyuncu may be almost too aggressive and front footed to start together yet. I'm sure its the long term plan but Evans is that little more composed and steady I would suggest. I'd love to see all 3 together with Castange and Ricardo either side!

Has he had surgery? I’m sure I saw that they hadn’t decided if he was going to need it.

He went to see a specialist in London to decide if surgery was actually required - presumably they’ve decided it isn’t. I would expect him back by end nov if this is the case.  Hopefully get an update from rodgers in the aek presser
