Surely we loaned benkovic knowing that Cags injury was at least potentially serious? Doesnt make sense

Bizarre decision to send Benko out on loan knowing we're short of CBs. He needs game time but we're also ****ed if Evans picks up an injury which he has plenty of history for.

Our second half of the season is going to be great when all these guys come back. You got Liverpool fans crying rivers of tears from losing one player. We’ve practically lost our team.

Good job we got Fofana in is all I can say, we may need to wrap Jonny Evans in ice but Wes Morgan should still be good enough to get us through the group stages till Cags is back.

The players have had a glut of games and will be battling from now until November, two games a week, Ukraine & Athens included. There does have to be an internal investigation though, physio sacked ect. - did we even replace him? It can't all be bad luck

Evans seems so close to an injury though, got a history of having at least a month or so out most seasons as well. Bonkers to send Benkovic out.

Honestly, why would you deliberately weaken an area of the team that is in danger of being overstretched by sending a player out on loan when a key player is out for months? Benkovic can't be that bad, surely? 

 

I have sympathy with injuries but the squad management is terrible.

Yeah which puts in the scenario of having to play the likes of Evans or Morgan half fit or even players out of position

We kept Thomas which suggests to.me that Fuchs is emergency centre back

Does Benko have a recall clause? If so, it might not be the worst idea to have him get match sharpness for if / when we do need him. If he doesn't then that is inexplicable.

He has to have been injured whilst he was away with Turkey, so this would have been before Benko left...

We knew he was injured on international duty (or at least the fans on here did). We also knew that Evans is carrying niggles and plays a lot for club and country. Morgan has back issues.

 

Even if Soyuncu was out for a fortnight, reducing the options creates greater risk for the others. We need to rotate this season due to the extra games and the tighter schedule. We could well be flogging players this season.

 

Benkovic, Knight or Hughes might not be the long-term answer but they'd provide short-term cover and support. We've sent them away and reduced numbers in a fragile area of the squad.

And the news gets worse, we have pretty much lost the spine of our team with no Ndidi, cags and Vardy... Maddison not being 100% either. Ricardo out as well, that is half our team and our best players as well.

No. He's a footballing professor playing 5d chess. 

 

In seriousness - I'm a huge fan of his for the most but the man prefers to set up excuses and uses deceit to cover up shortcomings. 

 

In a month or two he'll be bemoaning investment whilst ignoring the fact he's sanctioned moves away from a vulnerable position.

 

He'd be much the better manager for having met this problem head on rather than, as it seems, tried to sidestep it.
