Soyuncu's injury

Less intense.

You still have to sprint backwards as a center back in under 23s football no? I could understand if it was a crunching tackle or in the 80th minute when his body is fatigued. But this was literally the first semi sprint he made. The only slight difference between under 23s and tonight was tonight was slightly colder, was that a factor? Who knows.

In regards to the temperature. Both Ricardo and Ndidi wore full length thermal compression leggings tonight. Cags doesn’t wear compression tights when playing, could be a theory as to why he felt a twinge tonight.

Bet he had a compression dressing on his todger 😂!

And a long journey....ImO.. He should Never have gone...!!!

Medical,Coaching staff, manager & Player combined, took an unwarranted calculated risk....Poor Judgement all round..!!

2 returnees, in Ricardo & Ndidi was suffice.

plus not introducing One of the young hopefulls, lacked forethought...One could Read how the game was going.....a loss or draw was before their goal,

Irrelevant...We are not clever when it matters, und still dont get the results....

Starting to think the problem is not so much five at the back as one up front.

Whether it’s Iheanacho tonight or Vardy at the weekend - so isolated.

Don't think it really matters how hammy we have up front if we are not creating enough chances for them and we are not.

Honestly, I'm really confused by it. We have a great array of attacking minded players, Barnes, Maddison, Praet, Tielemans, Ünder and even Ricardo and Thomas but we don't seem to create enough for our strikers.

We are spoiled in regards to having Jamie Vardy who only needs one or two chances per game but until we sort this out, we could have Messi and Ronaldo up there and we will still struggle.

Why is it ok to play Ricky & Wilf but wrong to play Cags ? All three have been training and interacting with staff. If his groin was going to give him trouble it would have done it at U23 or Premiere League. Get Real!!

This feels like Ndidi last season all over again. I appreciate there isn't much of a way around it, but playing all 3 of them on the return in conditions like those didn't fill me with much ease.

Will be absolutely livid if he's out for any significant period of time, and I'd imagine he probably will be as well.

If it’s the same injury then the player and club have a tough call - have the op and he knows he should be 100% come second half feb/ early March or rehab for  six weeks and hope it doesn’t go again ..... I think we know which way they will go, especially as the euros loom on the horizon for cags

Can personally see him having to have an operation to repair it, now. You don’t get that lucky second time around.

I didn t know Soyu had an U23 outing, just detailed training...

Both Ndidi & Ricardo had been on Camera taking part in " heavy" training & Practice matches, which was documented.

I understand however Soyu had Session with Fitness Coaches und "basic" Team training sessions.

Rodgers in the morning or Previous evening had basically said that, but they Made an assesment, Soyu said he feels fit to play.

Even if he didnt have the same Time of Preparation ( spread over 2 -3weeks) that Ndidi & Ricardo had....

I had mentioned on the Eve of the Fulham game, that because of Club statements, I didn t think or believe he was, going to be a Ukrain starter,or even there..!!

So from my perspective there was nothing to get Real about...:)

if it turns out , he had longer and an intensive preperation, then Yes ,my own post was a false assumption..

Reoccurence or breakdowns, consistent with recent Major injuries, are, or can be unfortunately the Nature of the beast.

Easy to say that in hindsight but Soyuncu has been running since the end of October.

It feels like the club has actually waited as opposed to rushing them all back.

If it would go again, he'll be out for the rest of the season..And miss everything...

Prudency would be go for the op...The we have a strong Cags in the EOS, Run in.

Manutd had a strong EOS, last season...

Nothing is ideal...Especially Not Really knowing how Evans will hold up....

We had a strong run despite the injury crisis, but Now this last fortnight as Comeback to bite us in the backside..

If it is a variant on the same problem he needs the most robust solution long term, however long that takes. A decent chance he will be fit by March.

With big Wes barely able to play anymore, we clearly have a challenge. It may not be easy to buy someone good enough in January, so perhaps we need to bring Knight back from Wycombe and Benkovic from Cardiff and see if these guys can manage in the Prem. If they can we save ourselves £25 million. If they can’t, we know we need to buy again.

And of course there is an outside chance it was just a twinge and nothing serious, in which case a short period of rest may suffice. But I suspect that’s wishful thinking on my part.

You never know if you're right until you play in a match. No one is to blame at all. It's just unfortunate.

He had compression shorts on, which you would expect after a groin injury.

People saying about the weather? It was plus 4 degrees last night at pitch side. It's only about 7 here. A couple of degrees would make no difference.

To me it looked like he was holding his hip it could just be a tinge but until we hear officially it's probably best to stop trying to point fingers on who's fault it is because its 99.9% no one's fault.

If you're one of those who genuinely think we rushed him back, then you would have thought/known that before he actually got injured.

Or are you only saying it because he got injured?

Pretty hard to believe that a whole host of specialists and professionals got it wrong, whilst so many armchair experts got it right...

You seem to be advocating blind faith in the face of mounting evidence.

I think that questions should be asked because this is not one incident in isolation.  Castagne suffers a recurrence of his hamstring, Wilf last year suffered a recurrence and now Cags.  There is a pattern of players returning from injury and breaking down again, not to mention the horrendous injury situation in the first place.

I think it is right to question the rehab of these players and why they have been dropping like flies.  It might turn out that we are doing everything right but it might turn out that we are not.
