We need Ricardo or Justin back ASAP Castagne is a defensive liability at the moment.

Get of the lads back, not long back from what could have been a career ending injury and lacking a little in confidence, so let’s brand him as a liability. REALLY!

Those blunders, were Not his...He was given so many poor necessary ( hospital/ no free space) passes in these last few weeks...

I disagree, that 2nd goal for Watford was woeful from Timmy, dallying on the ball for far too long. He got away with one earlier in the second half where he did exactly the same. He had the simple back pass to Kasper on both occasions but messed about on the ball and got caught. A player of his experience and quality should never be doing that.

How often do you think any of them have experience playing in those conditions?

Mistake happen, it how you react to them, he reacted by winning a great tackle to start the move for the 4th goal.

My main issue with him is his goals and assists record is pretty mediocre here, the rest of his game I'm more than happy with him (even if he's been a bit iffy the last 2 games) but going forward I want to see more from him. He's definitely more than capable!!

I think most professionals have played in the snow, it’s not really a valid excuse for a seasoned pro who’s got plenty of experience under his belt, and as for reacting to mistakes, he made the same error before in the 2nd half and Kasper made a great save from the resulting attack, so he didn’t learn from his mistake which was really poor!

Agree he won a great 50/50 tackle to set the 4th goal in motion. For the record, I like him, i think he’s been really good generally since he signed, I’m a big fan of his but thought he was really sloppy today.

Think he’s been in the main very good this year. Love he’s got bit of bite to him.

was thinking last two games whether his shoulder is really bothering him, would imagine he needs surgery on it and only reason he’s not getting it done is our full back shortage

he looked like he dislocated pulling his shoulder back kicking a ball on Thursday; think he’s really fragile atm. So perhaps we should give the bloke some slack. Rather Castagne with one shoulder than Bertrand (shudder at the thought)

Watched Grimmy Castagne with a keen eye today trying to pinpoint what’s going on in defence. The lad is horrid under the ball, passing inside every chance he gets and over hitting crosses when he does get room. Where’s the swashbuckling top assist player who burst onto the scene? ****ing shit today.

Over rated. Just a basic full back who is ok at everything and excels at nothing. Should not be starting games. Unfortunately with the injuries we have he has to.

He isn't rubbish, he is having a dip in form and actually doesn't seem that happy. He has spoken about not being happy at our form recently too.  Is he unsettled? Youri is unsettled and uncertain of his imminent future, Dennis is out on loan?

Felt sorry for him and Thomas today as neither Barnes or Lookman tracked their fullback so Castagne was up against Buendia and Young and Thomas was up against Ramsey and Cash.

We are playing with an inferior RW in a formation to accomadate Barnes and are being exposed down the wings as neither of them track back.

I’ve said for weeks, we need to change the formation and that means dropping Barnes.

Anyone who thinks castagne is better than Ricardo needs to give their head a wobble. He offers absolutely nothing.

JJ fofana evans, Ricardo... watch the clean sheets return

So Ricardo will return to his previous form then? You have this confirmed?

Everyone is doggy right now, like everyone, with occasional bright spots.

Picking anyone out feels unreasonable because we lack consistency and belief as a collective.

No doubt a good player that obviously need consistency around him and a structured plan. It's obvious that when he gets into good attacking areas he's not been coached with a plan to do something meaningful. He usually hits a nothing cross playing to our weakness and the opposition defence's strength.

Look at any of the top 4 teams or the top international teams (such as Belgium), the ball is rarely wasted in those areas. At Leicester we play so many hopeful balls when in really good positions.

I’ll be honest I think castagne has always been a bit over rated.

Id rather take the chance on Ricardo, who when on it is almost unplayable than the supposedly safe option of castagne.

Yeh I find this thread strange as Castagne hasn't been up to his usual level, he's nowhere near our biggest issue right now. Ndidi, Soyuncu, Kasper and a few others have been way worse than Castagne.

Yeah but that’s like saying Shinji has still got it, we need contemporary evidence not emotion or hindsight, unfortunately. I would not disagree, peak Ricardo is way beyond Castagne. However, after injury we have a very underwhelming Ricardo. Maybe he turns it around but it has to seen now, not 2 years ago.
