Kasper Schmeichel

Recommended Posts

The Mount shot which was thumped from inside of the box that save was out of this world given the occasion. I think most keepers would of remained flat footed and watched that sail past them. Incredible couple of saves which helped us win the final.

Hopefully people will finally stop comparing him to his dad and just recognise that he is a top class goalkeeper in his own right.

10-15 years ago we barely had a player who stayed at the club more than 2-3 seasons. To have had players like Schmeichel, Vardy, Albrighton, Morgan and before them King stick around for such a long period is really special thing and for the likes of Schmeichel to keep improving is testament to the club’s coaching and his professionalism.

Excellent point. You look at other clubs who have won trophies (the big domestic ones, the League and FA Cup) and they've had players who've been around for both (and more). Ours won the League Cup, or were great for other teams more prominently (Shilton, Lineker) which we could claim but not on a big scale.

The fact we've got four players who have won both with us, three still very much part of the first team, is a brilliant part of the story. We've got icons who have delivered on the big domestic stage.

Man of the Match. Big game player, knew he'd be called on and stepped up to the plate when everything was on the line.

With Wes retiring Kasper will be Club captain. Can't imagine him playing anywhere else, an absolute hero and another Club Legend.
