And we did for the Man Utd game and won 3 games in a row.

The regroup worked. Literally no denying it didn't.

We're ****ed after this one then aren't we.

If the regroup only lasts 4 games then we get worse again...then next international break isn't till March?

Well that was disappointing the ref didn’t help the game allowing Phillips to continually foul without reprisal the officiating is getting worse, Brendan now has nearly 2 weeks to sort out this inconsistent form sort out his best first 11 his best way to take apart teams and win games !

I'm not asking to win pretty just win games and convincingly at times against not so prolific teams we seem to be going backwards our performances of late are Jekyll and Hyde what’s the solution, can we afford to bring in better quality players in January ship out the not so good players ??

Brendan is Hailed as the best British younger managers in the country so let’s hope he can pull this SH I T together and very soon !!

Everything seems really flat at the moment.” @Corky

Yep, they look like a set of players the manager has lost, not in the sense of they don’t like him etc. More in the sense I think perhaps the message is becoming repetitive and the same issues clearly never get solved. You can start to lose people’s attention can’t you, even if they very much like you.

I don’t know, it’s all I can think of as it’s been nearly a year of this now.

Exactly what I was thinking. The players just don’t seem to believe in the type of football BR wants them to play, and in turn they’ve lost interest.

It's all just very "Meh" and has been for a long time now.

Aside from the game against United, I can't think of any other games this season when I've thought we've played as well as we did 12x months ago. So far below that standard atm.

We've stagnated and I have no idea why, at first I thought it was injuries, but now we are only Fofana & Justin away from being fully fit that excuse doesn't wash any more?

And you don't think those two players will make a massive difference? Our defence has been shit for all of this season

Quite obviously not what I mean and not what I was getting at. It was implied the regroup didn't work after the last internationals. That is just not true is it?

It's a shame it's getting like this because on the whole Rodgers has done a really good job and we've produced some superb displays and results. He's also a victim of his own improvement in standards around the place but something isn't clicking right now. It seems like a chore for everyone- manager, players, fans- at the moment.

Barring Soumare, Lookman and Castagne, that’s the same team Puel had… and one of them is on loan. All that money and we basically play almost the same team.

Things can become stale can’t they, for players and for teams. Ferguson always kept his team fresh and ensured that the message kept fresh doing so.

Stan, we did win 3 games. However, we’ve also continued to look below par on every bar the United one since that break. If you hadn’t watched Leeds this season, there were periods in this game where you’d think they were an all conquering title contender. Same applies to the games against Brighton, Brentford and Palace. We are not improving.

I'm not denying we've looked below par.

Results wise we picked up though when the errors were addressed.

What would the reaction have been if we didn't beat Man Utd? Can't have it both ways where shortcomings weren't addressed but when they are, we profited from it.

Brighton game we should have won and were screwed over by VAR. Brentford could have been better as could Palace.

I'm fully in agreement that our performances could and should be so much better. I'm not blind to that fact. I just don't buy in to all the constant doom and gloom and act like we're playing like a League One side as has been suggested on here. Plenty of room for improvement.

Gonna be quite positive again today

A point against a side clearly buoyed by a partisan home crowd is not a bad result

And they were the better team today no doubt

And Rodgers did the right thing by bringing on Amartey towards the end.. he could see we were probably going to concede without making the change.

We defended better today no doubt

Overall, tough game, limited them to relatively few chances. I’m happy with the result

We can't beat a deep block defense or a high press with a high defensive line.....

Need a lot of time on the training ground to improve. We are really struggling at the moment and can't see us getting a result anywhere

You meant we beat (And played well) against Man Utd, we also won another 3 games, whilst not playing great, wins nonetheless though, in amongst all that we've also got worse and played worse, thats all true.

So whilst an international break 'regrouped' us (apparently) it only lasts for a few games.

If people wanna claim it 'regroups' us or 'its come at the right time' then we've got a long time after this one for it to wave it's magic wand.

Of what I saw it kinda went how I expected - upset rhythms, scrappy, lacking quality. It wasn't awful but it wasn't great. It's how these performances and results stack up over time.

12th but 2 points off top 6 and in the quarters of League Cup? I'll take that now. I kinda don't mind how this season is panning out because the absolute collapse of the last two seasons is fresh in my mind. But, ignoring Chelsea, our next run of games are very favourable. If we don't take at least 7/8 points from Watford, Newcastle, Southampton and Villa (2 wins, 2 draws) then I think we need to start having serious conversations. Especially ahead of transfer window and if we go out of Europe.

where have you been for the past 2 seasons?

Weve been playing the same way for a year lol

We were superb under rodgers for about 12 months. Its now at a point where its been 50/50 incredibly good and painfully average under his tenure

I get the negatives about performances

Our from pre international break all comps played 10 games 3 wins, 3 Draws, 4 loses

Post 7 games 3 wins, 3 draw, 1 lost all comps.

Sometimes you have to dig in just get results

We still don’t like being pressed, it’s not rocket science, that and our fitness seems consistently lower than most sides. Quite odd.

I didn't see that Leeds seemed any fitter than us. As I said in my previous post, our defence has been shit all season. I'm still convinced the return of fofana and Justin will be be the turning point in our season. The sooner the fuching better.
