imagine being upset about not getting to see us lose a game this weekend lol .

Gives then more time to work on Rodgers replacement. I reckon.

Or that **** will be here even longer because we won’t have been beaten by Villa this weekend

Sigh…

I've decided to book a hotel far away and sit under a chair while the Forest game is played. My health can't take playing that match with Rodgers in charge

He won’t be in charge imo

Standard PL and FA toss pots making the decisions. Nearly a month with no premier league football then.

Apart from her family and friends is anyone.truley going to be mourning the death of a 96 year old. Its not like she was mowed down by a bus in her prime. She's had a good life.

I think you misjudge the mood of a large proportion of the country.

I know I’ll be the minority but I’m kinda happy we have something a bit sacred that is more important than football. With the amount of money in the game now and the premier league becoming more similar to an American sport.for them to potentially postpone two gameweeks over the money feels like we’ve still got a bit of tradition

Many will disagree because it interferes with their routine (and other reasons)

If both our next two games get postponed and not just tomorrow, that means we’ll only have 10 league games between now and the transfer window opening lol

...when you are surrounded by grief, it is a blessing to find a way to escape reality for a short while!!!

Wills may have found a moment where he could be distracted from his responsibilities by listening to the game. I would imagine there are a lot of people he needs to reassure and things that are uppermost to be organized, so this could be too soon.

We all cope differently and some choose to bury themselves in their work in order to get through their ordeal

I think all this buys his time. If they weren't going to do it after Brighton then they are clearly willing to give him more games.

Cost is a big a factor as anything but I think everyone on here has a very different view of Rodgers to the board and Top.

On the bright side we can't lose to villa n spuds. But the downer is if they are giving Rodgers 2 more losses we are stuck with him longer.

Or with all the time will they pull the trigger now.

@ramadaonealluded to us being interested in Potter so I have no doubts we will still be targeting managers , Rodgers days are numbered and with the fact the next game is 3 weeks away I wouldn’t be surprised if we part ways soon.

I kinda get why they cancelled the games for this weekend. But surely next weekend will be at or around the same time as the funeral. So by the same logic they'll have to cancel next week's fixtures too. So now they've got to somehow squeeze in 2 rounds of fixtures!?

Will be terrible for all those teams in Europe and the ones likely to progress in the cups. I don't think we need to worry sadly ☹️

Hope the clubs look after the casual matchday staff affected by this.

Or the Premier League because it was their decision? Or was it clubs collectively?

Premier League edging ahead in the who can be the most performatively respectful stakes.

No doubt many Brits will be scraping around at 3pm tomorrow for a live stream of NEC Nijmegen vs Fortuna Sittard.

Don't worry, there is some cracking matches in the Bundesliga. Bayern vs Stuttgart, Leipzig vs Dortmund in the afternoon, and the derby match Schalke vs Bochum in the evening slot. Sky have the rights but not sure how much they can/will show.

I don’t understand why anyone is getting hot under the collar about this. I love football as much as anyone (maybe not so much right now….) but a queen has died after 70 years on the throne. I’m not a royalist and I know the royals aren’t a lot of people’s cup of tea but that’s a big thing for the nation. A game or 2 of football being cancelled-is that really a big thing? It is after all, just a game of football, even though we love it. Surely people can wait a couple of weeks longer to see us getting stuffed by Villa and Spurs?

The annoying thing is that the people saying "it's the right thing to do" will still be clogging up the aisles at morrisons tomorrow and going to the garden centres. Then the younger lot that paint their faces and wave flags will be going to the pub and getting leathered all day.

You believe that? Or you just watching too much BBC?

Most people Ive seen today think it's sad but that's about it.

Though a stat I've just seen is quite impressive, she had seen every World Cup ever!!  She also opened 2 Olympics, about 7 Commonwealths etc. Tis sad indeed.

I can only imagine you don’t go to games. People are upset because lots of money and time with family/friends has now been lost

just more important things going on for a lot of people than a game. You’ll still to go to the game just at a different time.

I guess the question is why do games have to be cancelled? What can't a mark of respect at each game do? Why are other sports and events going ahead? How are people/businesses being financially covered for their losses at such short notice?

There are much more serious concerns for households (or the majority of households at least) to contend with right now.

Cant go footy but can get bored to tears shopping  with the Mrs at Tesco Hamilton..

FFS

What better way then to drown your sorrows at a gentleman's club with the lovely ladies.  Get a few hugs, pour one out for the queen. Now is your time raj!

Being serious, you can be respectful and still live your normal life watching, playing, attending the footy. I think a lot of people (whether you like the royals or not) will attend or tune in to watch the funeral. I'm not a royalist but out of respect will tune in. Isn't that enough?

Life goes on for the world. Peope clearly will spend today reflecting and yesterday as well as the funeral day.

To each their own i suppose.

I think as a mark of respect, FIFA should retire World Cup's from now on.
