Just his simple balls over the top caught WBA off guard and it's the kind of thing we have all been crying out for for weeks. Just different ways to break the opposition down. 

 

Think he had a shocker for their goal though.

He used to be a central midfielder when younger (we bought him to Wolves as a CM) and was often in the top of the PL for diagonal balls over the top.

Which makes you think more why the hell he hasn't played for us.

Played well but poor for their goal I thought.

He offered nothing at the back - better with balls forward. We conceded once which he was skinned for, and WBA could have easily had 4/5 on another day.

What I liked was he was trying to delay the restart by grabbing the ball.

Faes would have just out his hands in the air.

Yep. If that's Faes getting rinsed by Jed Wallace this place is in meltdown. People see what they want to see, and ignore what they don't.

Performances wise, outside of leadership it was nothing special, but his vocal command at the back seems decent (hard to tell mind)

Feel like he's such a cut above of Justin at the moment and offers something different to Doyle.

 

Proper leader and such a cool head which is probably more important. 

Why comparing him to those 2? Not in his position... Straight in for Faes is the logical choice but Enzo loves him for some reason

He wasn't amazing but it was still a cut above what Faes has been doing. Not to mention the leadership qualities (you could actually hear him so that's not an assumption on my part). 

 

Even the way he spoke after the game; he's wired differently from most of them, I'm a good way!

Having a defender who is good and vocal at organising the back line is an asset and to that extent I'd play Coady. He may not be the best defender, but he's a leader on the field and that's exactly what we require now to get us over the line.

Came across well in the interview, for a bloke that’s only been here since August and not really had a sniff of getting in the team. Seemed like it meant a lot to him.

He may have prevented at least one goal though by doing long clearances when the rest would have tried to tip tap it out whilst surrounded by the opposition.  I actually felt he was calm in a lot of his decision making, which was a welcome sight, as there has been poor decision making in many games this season.

We need to stop looking at individual players when goals are conceded, its a team game.

Liked him today, yes he wasn't great for the goal we conceded but I liked his desire and the way he stepped into midfield with conviction.

Just don’t play him, Faes and Vesty. Actual full backs please (even if inverted).

this aside he had a good strong game and I’d start him
