His best games were 8/10 performances and his worst games were absolutely appalling. I never thought he lived up to the "steady Eddie" billing he seemed to get, his performances were never consistently good enough to deserve that. Peak Ricardo and Justin reached levels that Castagne never reached, albeit at least Castagne could stay fit.

His main elite attribute was his indefatigable ability to get up and down for 90 minutes. Once the team started misfiring and we didn't have the full backs bombing on so much, his limitations became more and more apparent. But if Fulham demand that dynamism from their full backs he might do ok for them, I'm loathe to say any of our outgoing players will struggle given how dysfunctional the team was in its last 18 months.

Other than the other winger, who is likely to be announced as coming through the door to help us this season? That's the most positive thing about this. Transfer fee wise you have to compare like for like, he was bought from the Chilwell money which at the time didn't detract from our 5th place league finish.

I remember him scoring on his debut or very early on and I thought we had a very good player on our hands. Unfortunately Brendan Ball took a hold of him and he looked pretty average with the odd good game and spectacular moment here and there.

I know some people didn't rate him defensively but I thought he was good in the air and was at his best when the ball was coming in from the other flank. He was ok getting forward, not phenomenal, but steady.

He seemed to work hard for the team though and seems to have a good opinion of himself which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I wish him well at Fulham. It's certainly going to help freeing up some cash and we've not missed him anyway with him not played all season.

This is the first time I can remember the club taking a fairly sizable % loss on a player, as we signed him for 21.5M.

We need to do it more often though, if players don't work out, having them sit around achieves nothing.

Castagne was decent enough for us, but time to go and time for a fresh squad and ideas.

Slimani?

It's crazy how so many of our fans are totally fine with players saying stuff like this. Imagine players saying stuff like this at teams with proud fanbases like Leeds/Ev etc. They'd be chased out of town.

Mind boggling.

I prefer to remember is good turnouts.

And I believe he played better, than most give him credit for..

OTT analysing, just it's many in a frustrated negative permanent  mood.

If he was having one,so was the rest of the team..

Relegated experienced players , today it's about just finding fault...No balance!

He is a good FB/WB, like many, Rodgers ruined many a  players confidence & LCFC career...We had something above decent,& it was wasted.

I remember him fondly & wish him all the best.

The streets would never forget his first three games for us ❤️ thought we were onto something at that point with him

Potentially a good player.

Comes to city under Brendan and we make him League one standard!

Loved that goal he scored towards the Kop which i was behind in L1 and saw go in like a bullet(obviously cant remember who it was against)

Good luck to him.

That's one of the shortest statements i've seen form us for a player. Safe to say he's been a bit of a muppet behind the scenes since the summer?

When he first came thought he'd go down as one of our best. But he was appalling at times last season and is another one who seemed to personify the shitty attitude that permeated the club from top to bottom.

The fact players like Castagne, Tielemans and Ndidi have gone to Fulham, Villa and Forest respectively shows the drop off from where they were two-three years ago. All of them were comfortably at least UEL standard then.

Hold on a sec, what, Ndidi’s gone to Forest? When did that happen?

Have I missed something?

Imminent apparently.

He was a good player. Rodgers time ruined any spirit and this obviously affected him. Regularly turns in a good game for Belgium. Just another casualty in the Rodgers, Rudkin debacle. Shameful really

This sums up his time with us pretty well imo. Gets an assist for Maddison but we basically play the game without a right back when defending and we lose 6-2
