He certainly wasn’t. There were dodgy moments (such as that cross at the end) but that role is a tough one to do and on the whole, against 2nd in the league, he did it well.

His worst pass was a successful one early in first half…. It only just completed with Ipswich forwards descending quickly…. Talk about heart in mouth…

 

I liked him yesterday…. Made himself available, played within his limitations mainly and added some much needed bite

Hamza playing in his position is fine he’s the one of the few that’s actually aggressive. Don’t get the hate for him.

Not sure how anyone could say he was really good yesterday, the amount of times he was beaten in the air was embarrassing. At one point he tried to blunder through two Ipswich players, immediately ceding possession and Justin had to rescue him. In a system that requires composure and calmness at the back he is to too erratic and always looks like he’s got a few ricks in him. 
 

He was average yesterday, for the most part played well but made too many avoidable errors. Love his commitment but he’s really not an intelligent footballer and it shows.

I thought he was good, probably the best of our defenders. I think he should've been moved to RB with Doyle coming into LB later in the game.

I don't get why some of our homegrown players like Hamza get so much criticism, KDH got it last year, Chilwell every year he was at the club, and Barnes would be a world-beater one minute and a complete pile of s**t the next.   Luke Thomas is already a has-been, yet Soyuncu was the dog bollocks, and could do no wrong for some on here! 

Hamza will never be a world-beater but whilst we're in the championship he can do a job for us.

I did too. I think when Ipswich put the press on at the end he began to struggle a bit with his distribution though. He's not comfortable playing that pass up the touchline with his left foot.

Pretty good defensively last night but when he lofted a cross over everyone's head and out for a throw in rather than knocking it wide for Albrighton I almost threw my tv out the window.

Burns was their biggest threat going forward, beating hamza in the air several times.

 

In his defence, he’s not a full back. But you’ve highlighted the big issue with Hamza and that’s his use of the ball, especially when under a bit of pressure. We don’t play a system where you can accommodate those sort of players in my opinion.
