The three centre back formation doesn't work with the players we have. Completely exposed in the right full back position (note WBA goal yesterday) and shouldnt be expecting young Abdul to cover it off. We won't get away with it again.

It was working, but then it all went tits up and Enzo hasn’t tried anything different to remedy the slide in form.

He just makes bizarre decisions, one moment he’s made the right choice by starting Coady, but then continues with Faes……. Faes was utterly dreadful yet again. Doyle, for me rarely makes too many mistakes, his Achilles heel is is pace, but on the ball he’s far superior to Faes in every way. Justin has the pace to bail us out, but I just don’t think he can play that left CB role.

The concerning thing remains Enzo’s reluctance to try anything else, that’s my biggest fear going into next season, teams with pace and power at the top end of the pitch will murder us.

Worth starting Vardy. Will help to have some consistency. Ricardo definitely plays. As good as Hamza was, I think he gets dropped. Southampton still carry a lot of threat despite Armstrong being injured and their loss yesterday. They create a lot. I wonder if Doyle comes back in and Faes shifted back, although would prefer it Coady remained in place with Vestergaard.

Interesting people say we will be exposed. West Brom were very good, have an excellent coach. Southampton were also exposed by Cardiff.

I feel Saints are very similar to us, similar problems. One thing is for sure there will be no low block, we are highly likely to encounter that again Preston and Blackburn so need to win this.

The West Brom game at least showed a good mentality from some of the players to dig in. That's really the most fans can ask, if players give their all and lose fans can't argue with that.

Maybe bring Ricardo back in and take wilf out and let hamza play next to winks wilf doesn’t lolk

liek he has the energy at the moment where hamza will be buzzing after Yesterday . Give kdh a bit more a chance to be higher up. Swap faes for Doyle to try tighten up as we give Southampton that many chances early on they could be 3-0 up

My gut is that if we play at a decent tempo, Saints will burn up. Their legs will start going with the schedule they’ve had. Bit like Norwich they might just give it in if we have a good early start

I think that’s true.

They obviously have their qualities, but lots of pointless possession, defensively suspect at times and fail to take their chances when dominant.

All sounds very familiar and it might just be a case of who’s on it on the day

Watched most of their second half yesterday. They aren’t relentless like Ipswich and looked very exposed to pace in the same way we are. No idea how this goes

Dropping Rick because of goal line clearances is insane. We need our best 11 and Hamza isn't in that. I'd be amazed if there was any changes apart from playing the rested Ricardo again.

I don't think Enzo is happy with Cannons pressing ability , it has to be the reason he's not included. Same for Kel but we know that's true.

I think we win this but Leeds get something at Boro. Pulverise Preston then party at home for Blackburn

Ricardo will come in for Nididi.

In the previous fixture, Southampton had more possesion but we pressed them when trying to play out from the back and killed them on the break.

I hope we play more of a counter attack style again as I think it will be a lot more effective. It doesn't matter how we win, we just need to get the job done! We were getting killed on the transition today, and Southampton have a lot more quality than WBA. Maybe the Saints misfired a bit today, but on paper they have more quality.

We're too knackered to play a pressing style against Southampton. Our midfield wouldn't get anywhere near them.

Faes put a nice ball in for first goal.

Not sure this turns into that though. These are decent enough to pass out of a press and the ball wont be in the air enough to miss him. I reckon we try to out play them on Tuesday.

Ball fully in our court here.

This will be Southampton's 8th game in 26 days- they should be more knackered than us.

Am I alone in wondering what some fans obsession with Tom Cannon is?

Personally, I don’t think he’s shown anywhere near the level to be warranting starting games ahead of the other strikers we have in the squad.

To me, from what we’ve seen so far he lacks a presence.

He’s not a striker that dominates a back line or puts fear into defenders through pace, power or skill.

How do we know, when he not had a run of games, and we keep playing Daka, who is out of form.

We got this! Had we lost yesterday I wouldn’t be very confident playing the saints. We have the advantage on so many levels the players just need to bring the belief and application and we win this simple.

Having to watch game in pub on Tuesday. Last time I watched us play Saints in a pub was memorable…..9-0….. Hope this one can be equally memorable…..for the right reasons!

I'm off to watch it in the same place as that game lol

Competing with Arsenal Chelsea too so will probably be tucked away in the same corner!

? Ricky's played right back for years and is in my view is one of the best tacklers in the team

It would be a real upgrade to get Ricky back into the team - Love Wilf but he's showing real sign of fatigue or playing with a knock (or both)

I'd play then both, is my point. And I'm pretty sure Enzo will also, is my other point

Hermansen

Justin

Vestergaard

Coady

Choudhury

Winks

Dewsbury-Hall

Ricardo

Mavididi

Fatawu

Daka

Faes has to be dropped. Justin's pace will be required, as this will almost certainly be another basketball game.

I don't like Hamza at RB, but his aggression may disrupt their technical players. Ndidi has looked way off it recently, so I'd swap him for Ricardo who did brilliantly in that role away at Leeds.

It has to be Daka up front. It won't be popular, but Vardy can't start two games in a few days, whilst Iheanacho and Cannon don't press well enough. Southampton, like us, hate being pressed high. We got so much joy from that at their place earlier in the season, as did Hull. Daka is by far and away our best pressing forward, so he has to start and then we pray that he remembers how to kick a football.

Why say this when it's so easily debunked? They've played more than us recently, we took KDH off on Saturday probably with this game in mind plus we saved Ricardo who by the time tomorrow comes around won't have played in 10 days.
