Speaks well but I wish they’d ask him the questions we want… Is it true you’re really slow, like even slower that Lineker on a bog? Why were you 4th choice in Holland? Do you honestly think you’re an upgrade on Daka? etc

Having now watched his intro video, he actually does say the word 'institution'.

I take it back, Julian. Your English is better than some natives lol

didn't the club themselves post a video with him saying his name as 'hoolian' and the first interview they call him 'joolian'

You don't expect that sausage from stoke to attempt any sort of pronunciation do you? He's got about as much personality as a dead sloth.

That's a pretty good profile from admittedly quite a small number of minutes.

Yet fast of mind is probably more important than fast of feet, I don’t remember Shearer or Fowler for example as being particularly swift? I also think this was true of Linekar too because whilst admittedly no slouch, his main asset seemed to be being or getting to the right place at the right time consistently, he’d gone before a defender had even worked out he was going. It happened so often it couldn’t be a coincidence.

Yep. Sheringham was slow. But effective.

Philadelphia Union podcast have kindly done a lowdown on Carranza for us.

Interestingly seems to deliver in big games for them, also got the goal that took Feyenoord through at San Siro.

His main strengths are pressing and linking play. Decent in the air and a good finisher, but better in a front two than a lone striker though. Which is seemingly been the same issue we've had with almost every striker we've signed in the last decade and then proceed never to play with a front two.

Did he get something like 3 red cards and 20 plus yellows for Philadelphia in 90 odd games

I think it will help with us having wingers that attack quite deep, I believe Marti will get the best out of him seems like one his signings.

Yeah he's got a bit of needle about him.

I'm concerned that he's yet another who is better in a front two though.
