I’m only interested in results as the football is plastic and artificial, we end up conceding the clearest chances in games and only create half chances, we’d be more successful playing on the counter attack.

Players are clearly under instruction to work the ball in and around the box. We don't have the incisive touch or killer instinct to make it work. Too clumsy and often hesitant. On the occasions we do find the ball at our feet in the box, we're crowded out. That's why we have so few shots on target relative to our possession and overall shots. Although there is also an element of poor finishing (Doyle).

 

Nothing wrong with most of the football, but we need to deliver earlier. Simple fix but I don't expect Martin to make it.

Yet our midfielders neither offer an attacking outlet or defensive shield.

This is only true when not in either box.

 

Defensively we’re all at sea, from an attacking perspective; we are static and often look clueless.

There is no defending it.

 

The elite sides and coaches who played this way knew when to vary tempo, pressed a whole lot more and had the advantage of world class players.

 

Its utterly stupid trying to do this, especially now given the way the games going.

 

The style RM is trying to play is nothing like what he thinks he’s some sort of advocate of.

Early in the season, a lot of people said that they would give Martin ten games before passing judgement.  Well, including cup games we are there now.
